Einfache, aber gut eingerichtete Wohnung. Die Vermieter waren sehr freundlich und mit vielen guten Tipps zum Ort und der Umgebung zur Stelle. Die Wohnung befindet sich im Souterrain. Dadurch ist sie etwas dunkel. Der Vorteil ist, dass es im Sommer (waren im Juli dort) angenehm kühl ist. Durch die zentrale Lage ist man schnell zu Fuß in den Ortskernen von Garmisch und Partenkirchen.

Das Haus liegt direkt an der vielbefahrenen Hauptstraße. Da die Wohnung zur Rückseite gelegen ist, stört das in der Wohnung nicht. Wenn man draußen im Garten sitzt, ist es aber recht laut.

Alles total toll, haben uns gleich wie zu Hause gefühlt. Die Lage ist perfekt gelegen zwischen der Stadt und der Partnachklamm, beides zu Fuß erreichbar. Der Ausblick auf die Berge von dem Balkon aus war wunderschön.

Even though the house was next to a busy road, the basement apartment was quiet and the apartment has nice open space. We liked the thoughtfulness of a wine and fruits left for us by the host on our arrival. The family who lives upstairs seemed very nice when we have met some of them. However we did not meet Antonia, the person who responded to my questions on Booking.com site. Her mother gave us keys and forms to fill in on arrival. She spoke mostly in German with my friend, who spoke German, and talked about the registration but nothing else. We had to look around the place by ourselves for WiFi password and all the right light switches. Antonia responded very promptly in English on Booking.com website when I sent questions to her. If we didn't mind being in basement with only 2 beds (including sofa bed), the place would have been quite comfortable to stay.

We did not realize that the apartment was in basement, and the entrance was from steep stairs outside. Though it was advertised as apartment with 2 beds (double and single) and a sofa bed, there were only a (double) bed and a sofa bed. If we knew that, we would never have booked this place, especially since we paid much higher price than other places advertised (over €700 for 4 nights) to accommodate 3 unrelated people. The booking.com website pictures were confusing since it showed upstairs pictures as part of our place (we specified budget amount, had only one "Apartment" available, and those pictures included nice mountain views from living room and terrace). So we assumed the apartment was upstairs and had mountain views from window. But actually we saw only grounds and neighboring house from basement window. This was very misleading advertisement. The kitchen/dining area lights were too dark to read hiking maps. Since we had to use living room as sleeping quarters, there was only dining table to use for maps and computers. Bathroom was small and had no space to put clothing or extra towels anywhere other than floor. Our technical hiking clothing did not dry out in 24 hours after washing due to basement humidity (even though outside was sunny and temperature went above 26C during the day). Normally these clothing takes less than 3 hours to dry in nice weather. Internet was slow and we could not use Skype because the other caller could not hear us in Skype audio. Probably the internet upload speed was too low or intermittent. There was no microwave oven (everything else was available if you want to cook a meal). The road in front of the house was under extensive construction (as of July 2020) and bus access was limited to only one direction from the nearby stop (we walked to Rathaus to get on bus).
