Eclectic style house in a nice place

Joyce and Ernst's apartment is an absolute joy 😊 Superbly located, beautifully presented 😍, excellent comfort 👍, surprisingly spacious (complete with an amazing and light-fillef loungeroom overlooking the canal), and equipped with everything you need ❤️ If you have read the other reviews, you know the trade offs. Yes, there are steep stairs, and yes there isn't a full kitchen. Yet we happily handled the stairs, and we're easily able to cook ourselves a lovely meal one night. But you get location and comfort that would be hard to beat anywhere in the world 🌎. Within easy walking of anything and everything Utrecht And Joyce goes the extra mile. All the little extras and more. As a simple example, she has prepared a suggested walking map complete with detailed descriptions that allowed us to see Utrecht the way a local does One thousand percent recommended

It wasn’t obvious that the single bed and double were essentially in the same room, with the single being accessible by a steep set of stairs.

A luxurious stay in Utrecht- highly recommended!

The house was stunning beautiful, and there was lots of space in the upstairs apartment. Access to the canal terrace was a nice bonus. The location could not be better and despite being in the middle of town, it was quiet and peaceful.

Would stay longer if I could!

The hosts are generous and thoughtful, for example providing toys for the children and giving tips on family-friendly activities we could do nearby. The house is absolutely beautiful, full of historical features. Near lots of cultural attractions and restaurants.

That it didn’t have cooking facilities and wasn’t super close to a grocery store, but hey, you can’t have everything!

An unexpected delight

The hosts were outstanding. The apartment was large, comfortable, and bright. The location on a canal with private access to the waters edge made the Netherlands experience even more memorable. The location is perfect. It is an easy walk to cafes and restaurants but just far enough away to enjoy a peaceful night. Utrecht is delightful and should be on everyone's travel plan, and so should this apartment.

Lovely place at the heart of Utrecht

Great stay at Joyce and Ernst, who are very nice and welcoming guests. They are also flexible and available to respond to questions. Their old typical dutch house is lovely. I definitely recommend this place and may come back in summertime to have an opportunity to enjoy the terrace on the canal!

I had not noticed when I made the booking that there was no "real" kitchen available which would be a plus. But there is all you need for breakfast, including kettle, Nespresso, microwave but also toasts, jam etc. Also I was notified (or reminded) about it right after the confirmation of my booking and there are lots of restaurants closeby so it would not prevent me from coming back! :)

Superb

The apartment is situated in an old house, renovated with great care and the hosts will show you around all the parts of this complex originating in the middle ages. This in itself is very special, and you can use the underground corridor from the house to go next to the canal on a small terrace, typical for Utrecht. the street is very quiet, but the lively part of Utrecht, with wonderful small shops, terraces and cafes is just 10 min walk away. The apartment is very clean and comfortable. You only need to agree with hosts on the sleeping arrangement if you are more than 3, but we all (4) had lots of space and very comfortable beds.

Cosy apartment in the middle of utrecht

The apartment is in a beautiful elegant house tastefully decorated. Very clean, large, full of facilities (fridge, microwave, coffee maker...) Nice views from both sides of the building. Hosts are very welcoming and flexible. The location is also excellent, in the center of Utrecht. We perfectly enjoyed our stay.

Perfect location, super well-prepared hosts (had all the necessary info printed out, told us about the history of the apartment- super lovely people, we will definitely come back.

The disadvantage was the lack of the parking- the hosts organise an external parking for a fee, but the lack of parking facilities is also understandable in this part of town.

Close to the buzz of Oudegracht, but still a nice quiet place to retire to at the end of the day.

Fantastic central location, lots of restaurants and cafes nearby but very quiet all the same. Easy 15 min walk to the station, or a cheap taxi ride if you prefer. Very comfortable, very big apt with lovely views over the canal. No cooking facilities, but there is a coffee maker and a microwave, and a fridge. Hosts were super welcoming and helpful. If I were to come back to Utrecht I would look no further.

If you are tall look out for those centuries old wooden beams!
