Excellent hosts and accommodation in a setting that provided all we needed.

The apartment was incredible. So many rooms and corridors. I couldn't find the exit to the parking area initially and had to ask our hosts how to get out! Children would love it - endless opportunities to play'hide and seek'! Lovely large terrace was a bonus, together with the on-site parking. The village is really interesting and had all the facilities we needed. Incredible bakery within 50 metres and many restaurants. Our hosts gave us recommendations and also a suggested an itinerary for a wine and oil tasting tour, which we followed. We are already thinking about how we can incorporate a return visit in our holiday next year.

A perfect place to 'experience' tuscany.

Casa Anna is a beautiful home in the heart of the historic center of Colle Val di Elsa. We felt like we were transported back in time staying here. I can't think of a better way to experience Tuscany! Allesandro and Liliana cooked a five course Tuscan dinner for my family, at the house, that was absolutely wonderful! Across the street is Mario Barone Patisserie that had the best pastries and cappuccino going... perfect for breakfast! The terrace at the back of the house had an incredible view of the old city and countryside, and was a great place to enjoy a glass of wine, appetizers, read a book or play a game. I would highly recommend this property.

Tuscany Base that Exceeded Expectations

Even though we, and none of our friends, had ever heard of Colle di Val d'Elsa, we chose to base our June Tuscan holiday there because it offers bus links to many places (Florence, Siena, Volterra, and San Gimignano) so a car isn't vital, and because the old town is on a hilltop with good views and cooler than the Florence plain. All of which were true, but we found that the small city itself has a lot of character, a long history, a beautiful walk along the river, some great restaurants, its lead crystal glass industry, and good walks in typical Tuscan scenery (e.g. the well-signposted Francigena way). Casa Anna in the old part of town is a standout property in which to stay - even the bathroom has a view! The historic family house is sympathetically and lovingly restored, and well maintained - it has high ceilings to offset the summer heat, and is well stocked with everything we needed. The terrace is just Wow - we made great use of it. The hosts and owners, Alessandro and Liliana, are very friendly, welcoming and helpful. They were in contact often to make sure we enjoyed our stay, and to provide advice on things to do in the area. It was spacious for just the two of us, but with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, it would be good accommodation for larger groups too.

Provision of a little coffee for the percolators, or tea bags, would be a good addition, especially for guests staying only a couple of days who maybe don't need to buy a whole box.

Superb

A fantastically located apartment with everything you'd want for a Tuscan holiday. Located within the historic Colle di Val d'Elsa many places of interest are within easy reach. Spacious and well equipped it is an excellent place to stay with loads of good restaurants nearby including a local pasticceria with delicious coffee and cakes. The owners could not have been more helpful making it a fell like a home from home .With a large terrace what more would you want than to relax after a day of sightseeing with a glass of wine and beautiful view.

Perfect

With two words Casa Anna was beyond our expectations....it is not only for the house itself but for the whole experience created by Alessandro and his wife.....old house-palazzo well maintained snd prepared for o group of 7.....we had excellent communucation before our arrival..everything was well prepared which was very important, as we were a family of 7 with kids arriving sround 10 in the evening....the location is very good...strategic I would say, if you plan trips around Tuscany....Pisa Firenze Siena and San Gimignano are within easy reach.....and last but not least Mario Barrone cafe is next door, offering perfect italian cappucino.....thanks a lot Alessandro....hope to see you again...

We had a fabulous stay at Casa Anna. Our hosts could not be any more welcoming and helpful. They recommended an excellent local restaurant and were always responsive to our questions. There is a welcome pack with lots of useful information and we were greeted by our hosts. Beautiful apartment with a lovely sun terrace where we had lunch al fresco. We stayed in October half term and did some hiking and exploring in Tuscany, the location was excellent for this and we had superb restaurants practically on the doorstep or within walking distance. There is a patisserie opposite where we had breakfast and coffee. My son has a serious dairy allergy and this must have been one of the easiest places to visit and eat out for us. Everywhere we went everyone was so welcoming and he ate very well, like all of us! The Sentierelsa trail is within walking distance, a nice easy hike with stunning scenery with the blue waters of the river Elsa.

Non ci sono parole per descrivere la gentilezza e la disponibilità di Alessandro e Liliana che ci hanno accolti e aiutati per tutte le nostre richieste. L'appartamento stile antico molto grande e pulito, si trova proprio nel centro di Colle alta. La posizione è ottima per visitare la vicina Siena e i suoi borghi. È dotato di un parcheggio privato e la presenza del secondo bagno, anche se piccolo, è stata per noi una comodità in più. Comodi i ristoranti vicini e la pasticceria Barone aperta presto per la colazione. Non c'è tv ma ha un'ottima connessione Wi-Fi. Non abbiamo goduto della grande terrazza, visto il periodo invernale, motivo questo per ritornarci presto.
