Finca Campestre La Adelita B&B

Ahhh, where can we even begin to describe the beauty of our days at Finca La Adelita? This is definitely a place where we truly came to appreciate the beauty of simple things. Our stay was far too short, but fortunately intense enough for us to experience what matters most when you are welcomed and hosted from the heart. To celebrate our upcoming wedding, Sonia kindly upgraded our room, and her welcome was so warm that we immediately felt at home. She also surprised us with a platter of cold cuts and cheeses and a glass of wine in front of the fireplace to celebrate our special occasion. It never really felt like staying at a hotel or guesthouse; instead, we felt as though we were staying with family. Most of all, we had the privilege of spending an entire evening chatting with Sonia about absolutely everything—from our families to geopolitics, from food to our life experiences. The conversation was as meaningful as it was fun: a little Italian, a little Spanish, a little English… so many languages, yet one priceless memory that we will treasure forever. Unfortunately, because our schedules didn’t quite match, we didn’t get the chance to try Sonia’s legendary breakfast. But we are certain that when we return to Colombia, we will also return to the Finca… there’s no way we’re missing el desayuno de Sonia next time!! And as if that weren’t enough, Sonia was even kind enough to give us some guavas from her garden to take with us on our journey to the airport. What a wonderful person. Thank you, thank you, thank you for everything, Sonia & team. We had the most wonderful time and truly hope to see you again soon! And as for you, dear readers: you simply cannot come to the Coffee Region without choosing Finca La Adelita. The most special place in the Eje Cafetero!!

Éste fue uno de los mejores alojamientos de nuestro viaje por Colombia. El alojamiento en sí era lo que buscábamos (una finca tranquila, con una habitación cómoda, bien decorada y muy grande, etc.), pero lo que más nos sorprendió fue el recibimiento y la acogida de Sonia, la dueña de la finca. Desde que llegamos hasta que nos fuimos nos atendió como a uno más de su familia, se preocupó por que estuviéramos bien, que tuviéramos algo que desayunar a pesar de salir muy temprano, etc. A pesar de que nosotros generalmente preferimos la soledad durante nuestras estancias, disfrutamos mucho hablando largo y tendido con ella, aprendiendo mucho de la situación en Colombia, y contando nuestras propias experiencias del viaje. Como info práctica, mencionar lo siguiente: en el alojamiento hay agua potable filtrada gratis, pudimos usar la piscina por las tardes (buena temperatura), el desayuno es muy completo, se aparca dentro de la finca y a 3 minutos andando hay un restaurante con platos bien elaborados y magnífica atención.

We had a great time at Finca, The Owner Dona Sonia was outstanding. The breakfast was great. She entertained us with teaching us about her property her birds or chickens or fish farm or fruits. She was very attentive to all of our needs.

La finca es excepcional. Sonia y Juan inmejorables anfitriones. Nos han hecho sentir como en casa, como si fuéramos parte de su familia. Nos han aconsejado y ofrecido lugares y tours por la zona. Además, el desayuno es exclusivo y todo casero hecho con mucho amor. Volveremos sin duda.
