Quality stay with everything on your doorstep

Breakfast was great, as was lunch in The Saddle Rooms. Also enjoyed a nice drink at the White Goose pizza place on site. Checking and out was simple and easy. The cottage was well equipped and cozy.

Excellent location for visiting my family. Lovely atmosphere as always something going on.

We arrived on a day that had no staff, but we were prepared for that and had a warm welcome by phone to talk through the key process. Staff very helpful and pleasant. Lovely cosy and warm flat. Excellent location for my family.

The key lock box didn't work, think water got into it, so kept keys with me. My bed was quite lumpy, but my granddaughter slept very well in her bottom bunk. The shower leaked and the hot water tap in the bathroom was very stiff to turn on and off. Another lamp in the sitting room and a small moveable table would be very useful. Other than that we were very cosy indeed.

A weird and wonderful venue!!

The room was very well finished indeed, especially the bathroom. the manager and chef at the Wild Goose produced a great meal in spite of us arriving later than they expected.

The arrival was below par with poor directions and confusing information about the restaurant times.

Nice and smart, great countryside, beware that Monday and Tuesday it’s pizzas only

The accommodation is very smart, it’s actually a restaurant with rooms and is a very popular wedding venue with a small tourist attraction next door. Great countryside.

We didn’t realise until we booked that the restaurant featured on the website is closed on Monday and Tuesday and instead you go to the pizza restaurant nearby. This was fine but a bit of a surprise. We were in one of the B&B rooms and there was a bit of noise from the people walking upstairs. Also very strange was the fact that the controls for the shower were outside the shower cubicle and completely inaccessible from inside if you wanted to adjust the temperature. I’ve never seen anything like this before. So it helps if there are two of you, one to adjust the shower, or do lots of stepping in and out. Otherwise it was a good stay.

Great place to stay in Yorkshire

An exceptionally fine room in a lovely setting. Very good food and drink both for breakfast and in the dining room. Definitely recommended as a place to stay.

A couple of the staff were a little offhand unfortunately, but this did not spoil the visit overall. Others made more effort to be welcoming, informative and cheerful which was great.

Location / setting was fabulous. Bar and restaurant were excellent as was the service.

The wooden bed head was uncomfortable for sitting up in bed. The bathroom was rather small and the shower control was outside the shower cubicle!

Fabulous stay in a stunning location

Before our arrival we were upgraded from the hotel to a cottage and it was magnificent, the place is beautiful, the staff were lovely and the food at the White Goose was exceptional. I would definitely recommend visiting the Forbidden Corner during a stay as it's fun for all ages.

FORBIDDEN CORNER AS GOOD AS WE REMEMBERED DIDN'T REALISE WE HAD TO BOOK BUT THEY LET US IN EVENTUALLY

I love good food but none of us enjoyed the evening meal and it was certainly not good value for money. I'm used to paying over a hundred pounds but we wouldn't eat there again in the evening. I eat out a lot so I think I felt they tried too hard and it didn't work. Sorry. however the breakfast was AMAZING. YUM yum yum Brill.

Very good but a few small improvements would’ve made it excellent.

Some hooks on the back of the bathroom doors, and more than six paper towels for a two night stay. An ice tray in the freezer would’ve been nice. There was a good selection of glasses, but a pint or half pint glass for beer would’ve been nice.

Carful what you wish for!

The food was lovely, shame it's not couples only.

It appeared that a manager was trying to work and also entertain his family at the same time, kids in and out to the loo whilst we were trying to have a meal, they also had a dog of which was playing our young dog up, causing hassle for all the customers, we deliberately go away when kids are in term because we don't want that agro. Kind of spoilt the experience unfortunately for us.
