Secret Garden House - 7 bed Manor House with Hot Tub and Magical walled Gardens

Very spacious! Lovely decor! Fantastic kitchen/dining area! Comfy roomy beds, baths as well as showers, amazing gardens to be explored, tree house, hot tub!! Loved it all!!

This is an exceptional property for a large party, we were 14 friends for a special birthday and it was magical. The bedrooms are very comfortable, lots of difference spaces to relax, and the large kitchen area was perfect for our self catering needs. Great comms before and during the stay, thank you. Thank you also to the cleaner who we bumped into on the way out, you do a brilliant job!

The house was big enough to accommodate 10 adults 3 children and 2 dogs. So really spacious. 2 comfortable lounges with TV's. Kitchen was huge with plenty of fridge and freezer space. Washer If you needed it. Beds comfy and clean. Good showers and roll top baths if you wanted to have a soak. Plenty of space for parking, at least 4/5 cars. Very good location into Leyburn itself. 2/3 minuite walk. Shops very close. Hot tub was brilliant.

When we arrived. The maintenance man was there cleaning the hot tub. He had to phone the cleaner to come, they didnt know we were booked in. So a wait until she cleaned and changed the beds. Not a good start. Once inside a VERY strong smell of drains. This lingered for the whole time we were there, sometimes it was overbearing. Disappointed there was no welcome pack, even if it had only been a carton of milk!! No instructions for how things worked, did find in the cupboard some instruction leaflets for the appliances. NOW the garden was disappointing. It is advertised as this magical secret walled garden. NO, it was overgrown and downright dangerous in parts. Lots of nettles, weeds and plants that had just been hacked at in an attempt to cut down, I myself injured my leg on a cut down bush that had been left sticking up and I caught my shin on it. Quite a deep cut that needed first aid. NOT suitable for young children. The tree house was overgrown, dirty and extremely tricky to get up and down. Not maintained in any way. It was nothing like I expected it to be. You couldn't let children play in the garden unattended because of so many hazards. There was an outside dining table and chairs but they were so dirty we couldn't use them. Nothing to sit on outside. The gate leading up to the house was not secure. Old metal gates that didn't even close properly. Small children or dogs could have easily slipped through We had 2 dogs with us, fortunately bigger dogs that couldn't slip through the gaps. Leading onto a busy road right next to the house. We paid 2,500 for 3 nights. I really did expect a better maintained house and garden for the money we paid!! I'm not usually a negative reviewer. But I do feel these issues need highlighting. It didn't spoil our family birthday celebration weekend. We had a fab time.
