Laurence and Christophe are charming hosts and were able to enjoy the local region very easily from this well situated,

Breakfast was generous and very tasty. Les Chambres de Pontfol is very traditional and charming and our rooms were cosy and comfortable.

great place to relax and explore in a beautiful remote area in Normandy

The breakfast was amazing, the hosts really went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and to inform us about surrounding locations/events and other useful information throughout our stay. Would recommend this place for anyone looking for an affordable place to relax and explore in this region.

A welcoming, unique and magical place

This is such a wonderful place to stay. I encourage anyone considering it to book! The setting the hosts have created is truly magical and you get a real sense of the hosts' characters in the interior and exterior design. We had dinner one night in the garden (see my photo), the hosts are happy for you to use the communal kitchen facilities. The rooms/suites are large with a super king bed, a small sitting area and en suite bathroom. Each room has its own unique character, so if there are other rooms available, I'd recommend asking to check them out (and switch if preferred) as what the hosts have created is really special. The hosts (a husband and wife) are incredibly friendly and accommodating and not at all intrusive. Breakfast is excellent and the hosts most of the items (e.g. yoghurt, jam, bread). We stayed here for 2 nights whilst cycling various loops of the cider route and it's a perfect location. If you're cycling here, it's mostly flat to/from Mezidon-Canon station, Lisieux has 1 big steep hill which is fine from Lixeux to the accommodation but I wouldn't want to do it the other way around.

The only negative I can think of for this place is that the WiFi is intermittent and (Vodafone) signal is poor. However, this did mean we needed to disconnect and relax (or pre-download your movies).

Relaxing and quiet stay in an unusual building.

charming guest house run by a very friendly couple. They went out of their way to ensure there were gluten free options for breakfast. Huge continental breakfast spread with local produce on offer. Quirky decor that adds to the appeal.

Interesting stay in pays d’Auge with kind hosts

- Breakfast was local products and generous - Bath robes are provided, lots of towels - The Charlotte Corday room was spacious, airy and elegant, we liked its stand alone bath - Large comfy beds Hosts are friendly, they provided useful info about local visits (eg Cider producer DuPont, Falaise castle) and good places to eat ( Cafe Forges in Beuvron, Le petit Normand in Cambremer)

- The ‘pirates room’ - accessed through the Kitchen and not suitable for anyone over 5 ft 8, especially the shower. A large room but its decor was not our thing. Fortunately we were changed after one night. - Too much clutter everywhere eg in breakfast room. Lots of potential in outside area, but yet to be realised. NB name of house seems to be Manor Pontfol - that’s what the signs say - but greenery needs to be cut back on D16 so they are visible

Nice guest rooms in old manor house. Good value for money

The location of B&B is on the Cider Road, it is easy visit local producers of cider, calvados, cheese. Rooms are decorated on different themes. Bed was wide and confortable, room spacious. Very quiet. Breakfast was plentiful and many local and homemade products were used. No wifi - you could enjoy a total rest.

The telephone connection was very weak.

Excellent place to stay for a night.

We had the upper big room with the 'ensuite' bathroom. All furnished in style. All the rooms have different antique styles. Breakfast was in the kitchen. The place is an old refurbished farm. Very cosy, very on the country side. Super friendly and charming lady who runs the place with her husband. The lady booked us a resto close by which was really nice and value for money. Top choice from her.

the GPS sent us to the wrong direction very close to the farm. If you follow the GPS and turn right, you'll end up in a dead end path... Just continue the road and you'll find the place a bit further on your left side.

Very helpful hosts who allowed us to check in early after our long flight from New Zealand. Very comfortable beds and surprisingly quiet room on the ground floor. Excellent breakfast with several breads, cakes, jams. Would certainly stay again.

The only thing that would have been nice would be some chairs to enjoy the sun in the garden.

An unexpected delight!

This is the most unusual hotel - in a good way - that I've ever seen. It has the owners' personality in bundles, and is very much worth staying in to experience.

My partner slipped on the shower floor and hit her back on its side. The floor could have been a little less slippery.

Pour notre deuxième fois c'est toujours très bien !

La gentillesse des Hôtes. Les petits déjeuners comme on n'en voit que très rarement, des vrais brunchs, variés, avec du choix pour tous les goûts et toutes les envies. Laurence prend soin de nous chaque matin pour savoir ce qui pourrait nous manquer (franchement il y a tout sur ces tables) si besoin, de bons conseils pour les visites et évènements dans la région. Les chambres toutes variées avec un thème différent sont décorées avec soin, et sont confortables.

nous pensions avoir un petit frigo ds la chambre mais c'est ds la salle commune de petit déjeuner, un seul réfrigérateur déjà bien rempli pour tout le monde, la salle de repas est agréable mais meubles et plans de travails trop surchargés de choses....un peu d'huile de coude et cela deviendrait un lieu parfait! la connexion internet ne fonctionne pas ds la chambre (seulement ds la salle des repas)...donc à éviter pour ceux qui souhaitent y travailler!

Un séjour de zenitude dans le doux Pays d'Auge

Nous avons apprécié la beauté des lieux, l'originalité de la décoration ( Moyen Age), la literie toute en largeur, douceur et chaleur, la salle d'eau avec cascade au dessus du lavabo ! L'accueil des propriétaires a permis des échanges intéressants . Quant au petit déjeuner, pris en toute convivialité, il était fabuleux.....
