Akamatis Giorgos

I really loved my stay. Where to start? Giorgos and his wife are wonderful hosts, you almost feel like part of their family while staying. They will help with general info, local tips, or if you need anything (they lent me a backpack for climb to Saos peak). Room and bathroom were not big, but had everything I needed and though furniture is not new - everything was in good shape not broken, flimsy, scratched. In contrast to ‘luxurious’ hotels often just made to look expensive but interior actually of poor quality and poorly maintained. Shared kitchenette was functional, I had what I needed to prepare simple meals, and is a place where, if you want, you get to socialize with other guests (during my stay: quiet, chill, well-mannered people from different countries). Area is very calm, quiet and green, 15 min walk to beach, village tavernas and minimarket or paths to nearby vathres or Saos peak hike, and… hosts have a beautiful shady garden full of corners where to relax and enjoy ‘al fresco’ chat, book, coffee, drink or meal. I was lucky to visit while flowers were in bloom - a true slice of paradise. A cute dog and 2 cats roam freely in the garden for you to cuddle, or just let them be. Lastly - everything was impeccably clean, again to levels not seen in most ‘luxury’ accommodations, and room cleaned and sheets & towels changed every 3-4 days. Hope to come back soon to this beautiful island, village and hosts!
