Aberdeen Serviced Apartments - The Lodge

Roomy and clean and tidy and very practical.

A little cold when we were there and no way of heating.

Quiet location. Easy parking. Good range of food left for breakfast. All basics supplied.

Windows were left open and unable to access them. Few issues in the bathroom-needs some TLC.

Large, spacious apartment, well equipped and in a quiet area, with on street parking. The continental breakfasts were good with pancakes, jam, yogurts, milk and cereals. A large bowl of fruit and muesli bars was provided too. The WiFi worked well The sofa was comfortable.

The apartment needs a little tlc. One of the blinds in the bedroom was slightly damaged, bent.and needed a good clean. The panel on the side of the bath was cracked and the panel opened up revealing an inch gap. I pushed it back into place again. The skirting board behind the sink in the bathroom needed painting. The pillows were too high for a comfortable sleep and would have resulted in a cricked neck. I had read a review warning about this, so had brought my own pillow luckily. These minor details could be fixed so easily and would improve the apartment for future guests.

The apartment had some very good and not so good points. It was a lovely size and was bright and fresh. The view out of the living room window was lovely and you could see the ocean in the distance. If was a warm apartment and the bath was a great size.

My main disappointment was the flooring. The laminate wooden flooring was not well fitted and made a constant noise when you moved. The other apartments were obviously the same as the one above was very noisy. On my first night there the occupants got up at 5 and moved around for 3 hours disturbing my sleep. The floor boards on the landing were noisy and it sounded like somebody was constantly coming to my apartment door as the door was not completely flush so noice came in through the gaps. Some shelves in the bathroom would have been nice along with some hooks as there was nowhere to put personal items. The bedroom was a bit bare and some wall decor woukd have been nice along with a chair in the window. The bed was small although comfortable. A few softer pillows would have been nice too. The blinds were cheap and didn't stop light coming into the room. The kitchen was short on cooking utensils and the dryer didn't work. If you have mobility problems the stairs to the front door and the internal staircase are not easy to cope with. This all said I did gave a nice 12 day stay.
