This is a large hotel located at Trg Slavija and hence very conveniently for transport, restaurants etc. My room was a decent size and the breakfast buffet was good and varied.

I like the vintage decor and the vintage window on mezzanine floor.
I could have been received at reception with more openness. My primary reason for choosing a hotel over an airbnb/apartment was late check in (after midnight because of my travel plans). My reservation was viable and paid in advance. I was received with raised eyebrows even though the hotel has a 24h reception.
The receptionist was unable to charge me the turist tax because of late hour (presumably) and suggested I settle it the next day. I agreed.
Next day’s receptionist suggested I pay it upon my check out the last day. I agreed.
The third receptionist reminded me of it again, long before checking out. Too much communication over a small amount of money. Would appreciate better communication within the staff.

One particular staff member could do with being a bit nicer.

The staff was nice, a receptionist provided me a hairdryer since I forgot to bring my own - saved me :)
The accomodation is basic and the breakfast was good. Yet, the reality is that the pictures listed here don't represent the real state of the place.

Only location and staff fom garage.
It looks nothing like the pictures. The hotel is outdated, and the only things they’ve changed are the beds and the room’s front door. The windows are from Yugoslavia, the bathroom is terrible, there’s no space to sit, and there’s no light. The view from the room is catastrophic. To make things worse, an impolite and rude receptionist at 10 PM refused to give us the key to our room, even though we had a sleeping six-month-old baby. He was talking on the phone and simultaneously (as if we were interrupting his private conversation) rudely yelled at us that he wouldn’t give us the key until we handed over our passports, even though we had already provided an ID card at check-in, which is a valid document according to his colleague. On top of that, they even gossiped about us with their coworkers right in front of us. Do not visit this hotel—it will ruin your impression of Belgrade and the hospitality of its people.

The location is very good. The room was spacious and the hot water is plentiful and immediate.
There are two very different Slavija hotels across the street from each other. This one has no sign and you cannot see it until you are nearly at the front door of the gambling parlor next door. The WiFi on the third floor worked with a strong signal when I checked in. But in the evening, all night and in the morning there was no WiFi on floor 3 and I had to use the WiFi in the lobby. What they charge for early check-in or late checkout is excessive.

The positive thing was that the room was clean. The location was good.
The room smelled very bad, on cigarettes and alcohol. Also the windows were very old and the room was cold because they were not good windows. The staff was not very helpful. We also paid aproximately 50€ for the parking garage for 3 nights, and they broke our key car, without even admitting it.

Hello,
in general I was satisfied with accommodation in hotel Slavija during the 28. 12. - 31. 12. 2022 (condition, garage, location,...), but have one recommendation:
to put dark (black) curtains into the room would be very good for better sleep, because outdoor advertising reflector was quite distracting.
My room number was 131.
Best regards

Good location, not far from the main bus station. The room was very clean & well furnished.Breakfast at a small additional cost is served buffet style so you can have good substantial meal to get the day to a good start.
I can’t fault the hotel & cannot make any negative comments.

+ One of the best locations (if not the best) in Belgrade, especially for business trips. Everything is in your close proximity, so you won't even need public transport for most of the time
+ Friendly staff, at least those who I encountered. Especially Nebojša the receptionist
- Not a single window in my room had a window handle. Meaning that windows are sealed and you can't open them. Well, not a problem if you're staying in October as me, but it might be during summertime. But that's not the end of troubles, in those places where window handles should've been or where they've been once (?!), now are literally holes and cold air from the outside is getting in through those holes. One of the windows (vertical like window) wasn't properly sealed as others and couldn't fully close due to not having a window handle. Instead of handle, it had a kind of improvised door bolt or whatever it was. That improvised bolt couldn't fully close the window (if you're wondering how large that space is, well, you can fit your pinky finger through it). Because of it, noise from the outside was also unbearable and the room was just too cold, especially during the night. Even AC with turned heating mode couldn't do much. Be aware that I come from one of the coldest regions in Europe, so cold is definitely not something I'm not used to, but this was just too much, even for me. It is really unbelievable that hotel let that, it's so trivial but crucial investment.
- Hygiene ranges from very poor to meh at best. My room had a mini fridge and I thought about putting water bottles in. Gosh, that smell when I opened it. It smelled like rotting skunk was left inside for like a year. I almost throwed up. Bed sheets seemed clean. Bedspread wasn't probably washed for quite some time. Blankets were old and sprayed with air freshener (I know this cuz my father uses exactly the same one for his car), but they seemed clean at least. Bathroom hygiene was kind of meh. Shower doesn't have a curtain and combined with non existent shower curb, bathroom was always wet after taking shower. Toilet bowl wasn't properly cleaned (I won't go into details).
- No AC remote, which means that you have to switch it manually.

I stayed here only one night to fly out, but the staff was super helpful in finding me a taxi that I could use my card in and making sure I arrived at the airport on time.
The street outside was noisy.

Great location, close to plenty of things, in the heart of the city.
Facilities were not renovated, lacking a bit in cozyness.
