Location, appearance. Very good transport links. Rooms were very comfortable with good facilities. Liked the turn down service with mints! Staff obliging and helpful, maybe that is the same thing? Easy to head into the city centre but also a lot to see nearby, generally within walking distance. Took breakfast on last morning with good choices and service.

The property was clean and well finished in a beautiful building

We chose the deluxe suite. 5 of the 9 pictures suggest the deluxe suites have a balcony however the hotel only has 1 room like this. In the end we had to swap from a noisy room on the first floor to a lesser room at the back of the hotel. Very disappointed and feel the hotel misrepresents its rooms on booking.com

Beautiful well furnished, great attentive staff and well decorated. Clean and good facilities.

Sadly didn’t get the good night sleep we hoped for here. Beds need updating - mattresses were not pocket sprung so every time my husband rolled over in bed it felt like I was being catapulted out! We had a few maintenance issues. The mini fridge wasn’t cold and the ventilation fan in the bathroom kept making a loud squeaking noise intermittently through the night (not connected to air con so couldn’t switch off). Even though we were the other side of the corridor we could hear from the room every time the lift went up and down. The service charge was a joke - they place a £40 per day “holding fee” on the card then charge you £14 for the pleasure of refunding it (we were literally there for an overnight place to sleep and didn’t need and “service” so this felt like a big scam!) Because of these facts I’d be hesitant to stay again, which is a shame because it’s an otherwise lovely hotel.
