Amazing city centre hotel, but run on a shoestring?

We booked this hotel for one night very much last-minute after changing plans. The price was extremely reasonable for a modern city centre hotel, and the member of staff on reception was very helpful in finding a room with a bath even though we'd been allocated one with a shower. The room was very elegant and seemed to have been recently refurbished. Excellent value for the price we paid.

We were disappointed that the hotel restaurant wasn't open when we arrived, as it was supper time, we were rather tired and it came on to pour with rain for over an hour just after we arrived. Breakfast was also rather disappointing.

Worth the Money, Will Stay Again.

Beds were comfy. Location is great and handy for the exploring the city. Free car parking a plus.

Aircon did not work and although we asked no one came to fix it. A staff member tried to enter our room one night, with no explanation as to why! She apologised and said she forgot anyone was staying there. We used the safe for valuable and cash.

I got really specious room. Even though interiors are not new - it is made of very high quality materials. Staff speaking good English, free parking on the back of the hotel, good enough breakfast. Highly recommnded!

Hotel bedrooms lacked attention on maintenance and presentation side. Breakfast and staff were excellent.

Bed linen didn’t fit bed properly (need valance for exposed divan base), no mattress or pillow protectors. Room 605 Bedroom smelt of stale smoke (smoke alarms covered by tape!!), bathroom had sewage smell although very clean. Flush not working properly - had to remove cistern lid to use flush toilet.

Restaurant in the hotel seems to work separately from the hotel- was closed at 20.00h. Breakfast is not worth it at all.

Almost nothing....

Dirty, very dirty, pillows stained. The bed sheet is not big enough to cover the whole mattress. The carpet is dirty, not recommended to walk without shoes. I tried to find sleepers in the room without success and when I asked at the reception the lady lifted the shoulders. The breakfast was awfull, omlette not cooked, fried salami....at wanna be 4 star hotel....

the location was ideal to visit our relatives.

I expected that the room cleaning would be done property by hoovering and polishing surfaces once a week at least but only exchanging towels, shampoo etc had been done. At the canteen, we could hear the member of staff chatting because they talked so loud always. It had happened in the bar as well.

Back to the passé

Cet hotel devait être un palace il y a quelques années (dans les années 80 ?). Il est dans son jus... Très typique des années URSS, il assure un vrai dépaysement. Le personnel est franchement adorable mais les équipements datent un peu. La chambre est immense. On s'attend presque à croiser des diplomates ou des agents du KGB tellement le style rappelle les vieux James Bond de l'époque de la guerre froide. Par contre allez y les yeux fermés, aucune mauvaise surprise et des conditions tarifaires plutôt adaptées.
