Location was excellent, breakfast was excellent

The room was very disappointing. The 2nd time staying here first time was great, and this time was a tiny small room. Bed was uncomfortable and squashed in between 2 bedside tables. Floor boards creaked very loud. The table and hanging wardrobe were both very unstable. It was all just disappointing after our lovely first stay. It's a very convenient hotel visiting family. But we will not be staying here again.

The location was quiet, room size was ok

Called reception to help input car registration number in terminal, they asked me to come down from 4th floor. They could have input the reg for me, took a few seconds.

Excellent - can't wait to come back!

We all slept the best we have slept in ages! Rooms have everything you need. Request for rooms next to one another was actioned and the adjoining door was opened within 10 minutes of asking so we felt all together. Staff couldn't have done more for us. Facilities, food and settings were all excellent. Second time we've been and one member of staff was there during our last stay and remembered us and said it was lovely that we'd come back! With the amount of people they must see it really meant a lot that they remembered us.

The staff were good and helpful.

The hotel's heating system is switched on only early morning and in the evening for limited hrs and therefore room gets cold during the breaks when the heating is not on. The shower is ordinary compared to other 4 star hotels, at least we have been to.

On the whole a comfortable stay for us, having attended the wedding at the same hotel that afternoon

Generally the hotel accommodation was good.

Staff were not interested in assisting with early check-in in spite of explaining that we had travelled some 400 miles to attend a wedding reception at the same hotel and that it would be convenient for us (being the wedding guests) to have some where to dress up. We were advised that as guests of an event at the hotel, we would be given preferential rates - but this did not happen. We paid the standard internet rate!!!

Felt like home. Beautiful.

Staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. The bedrooms were clean and comfortable. Dog friendly and very accepting of our staffy. Beautiful décor. The building was stunning.

The hotel was perfectly adequate, but overpriced for a basic hotel - not a 4 star hotel standard.

The room was adequate - but a little in need of update. The restaurant food was good, but staff seemed a bit overworked/understaffed. Reception were pleasant. Only one lift was working during our entire 2 night stay.

This hotel is really going downhill!

To be honest, not much

Realising that the hotel was busy, however the staff were quite dismissive. Quality of service was poor Breakfast was overbooked and we had to wait in the queue for about 30 minutes to get food and drink There was no heating in the bedroom. It was freezing!

Disappointing, wish I’d have booked elsewher!

Free parking is always a bonus, however the car park there is horrendous! Very small spaces, cars parked all over the place. Not what I expect from a £150 per night hotel.

The hotel has a function suite which had music thumping away all night. So much so that my partner and I had to move rooms. Hotel restaurant isn’t open in the evenings so if you want something to eat the only option is the bar or room service. Luckily there is a pub across the road “falcons nest” which is reasonably priced and has really nice food. The hotel is advertised as a spa hotel, yet unlike other spa hotels you have to pay extra to use the leisure facilities on a day rate. The Grand Hotel Sunderland is much better and is similarly priced.

Avoid this hotel is a dirty place

Nothing the hotel rates as 4 star hotel but isn’t more than 2 star hotel

Staff very rude particularly the manager when my wife complained that our room hasn’t been clean the manager told my wife to check out next day. Hotel is very outdated isn’t a 4 star hotel even a premier inn is better than this hotel, the room is just plain walls no pictures old windows can feel the draft and see mold, rooms dirty too and two expensive. The place is really really hold please see the pictures don’t wast your money in this place and they charge you extra to use the swimming pool or spa facilities I never seen this in my life

Hi, the room was fine but slightly old fashioned now. The bathroom had a cracked basin, and the toilet seat wasn't aligned. The breakfast price was good value, but the standard of the buffet food was below my expectations. The choice of food was good, but the main breakfast was overcooked and took too long to refill. Coffee was off on 2 of my mornings, too.

The breakfast could be better cooked. A makeover of the rooms would be good too. Having to pay for the spa facilities. The hotel charge enough without extra for the facilities

The rooms are outstanding, clean and comfortable. Super facilities gym, pool and spa. Staff are all friendly, professional and extremely helpful.

The location is distance you need a car, however it’s also quiet and surrounded by trees and if your up early you’ll spot beautiful deer!

The chats resterant was lovely gluten free option for my partner to have the beef burger witch was a bonus I had the stake fritters and it was beautiful lovely atmosphere and quiet

Our room we got I believe we drew the short straw the last time I stayed I had a general room this time staying with my partner we decided to upgrade but some how ended up in a smaller room how that happend im unsure the TV was disappointing the last time I stayed the TV was huge and had Internet and access to Netflix this TV unfortunately only had free veiw and would not allow any sort of Internet to be connected almost like it was blocked another me ton will be the bathroom cleanlyness more specific the bath plug it was goopy and had hair all over it morral if the storey go standerd you've got a better chance

In the bathroom there was no soap dish to put the bar of soap of provided. so soap bar sat on the sink and melting with every splash of water. sink getting messy . only one set of tiny shampoo &moisturiser provided no hangers in the wardrobe and no hooks in the bath room to hang towels etc.
