Shiroyama Ryokan

Very scenic walk up to the property. Very nice lady who spoke good english running the inn.

Little remote and the surrounding town wasn't very lively. Still a really nice experience.

El personal muy acogedor, la señora estuvo muy atenta a nosotros desde el primer momento, nos preparó tanto la cena como el desayuno de manera muy íntima y nos acogió como si estuviésemos en casa. Aunque la ubicación esté apartada, es una buena ocasión para disfrutar de la tranquilidad de esa zona, teniendo al lado de los templos más bonitos y menos masificados que hemos visto. Adecuado para pasar un día en Nara desde ahí. Muy auténtico y único para experiencia durmiendo en futones y dejándote cuidar por la anfitriona. Totalmente recomendable

宿の方がとても親切で、食事場所の案内や近くのスポットの案内をしてくださって嬉しかったです。 朝食の1品の種類が多く満足でしたし、朝食場所からの眺めがとても綺麗でした。

コンセントが少ないので複数使う方は困るかも知れません。あと徒歩だととんでもない段数を登らないといけないので、計画的に交通機関を使われることをおすすめします。

The location of this Ryokan was lovely, half way up the mountain with views over Nara and Kyoto. It is an easy walking distance to the fabulous Hozan-ji Temple - the most beautiful temple we saw in Japan. It was close enough that we could go back at night and see it all lit up with lanterns - magical. We also walked to the top to check out the amusement park, it was closing but looked fun. The owner of the Ryokan was very sweet and made a real effort to communicate in English with us.

The room was a little tired and I battled to make up the futons (the sheets didn't seem to fit at all ). Quite a lot of admin at the end of the day which I could have done without. We had to book a bath time even though there were no other guests, this was quite confusing to say the least. I'm not even sure now if we used the right bathroom. We mainly booked this as an experience, but after staying in many other hotels in Japan, we are unlikely to repeat it. I am reluctant to be mean about this place but also need to be honest as, with breakfast and dinner included, it was pretty expensive.
