Yakakutei

庭に露天風呂があるお気に入りの部屋でした。お部屋はかわらず素晴らしかったです。温泉も堪能できました。

久しぶりに訪れたところ、スタッフの多くが外国人でした。外国人が駄目ということはありませんが、教育が行き届いていないと感じました。客室案内時はきちんとしておられましたが、玄関先でお会いしたスタッフ数名はお辞儀もおざなりで、佇まいがだらしない印象でした。食事の説明をしてくださいましたが途中で度忘れしてしまったのか、「〇〇と△△を混ぜたヤツです」と仰いました。それなりのお宿なのに、バックヤードの言葉遣いはあまり良くないのだな、と思いました。残念です。

Yakakutei is one of the most gorgeous onsen ryokans that we’ve visited. We stayed at one of the Japanese style garden units with our own outdoor plunge pool as well as an indoor hot tub. The room was beautiful in traditional style with flawless workmanship in all details, and the garden was also lovely with meticulous landscaping. We spent three nights and had three totally different style of Japanese cuisine for our three dinners, all featuring local Kyushu ingredients and one of which was a private sushi omakase with our own chef. And unlike most Japanese ryokan, Yakakutei has a team of young international staffs from different Asian countries. Special shout out to Mo who is from Myanmar and she took good care of us from the time we checked in and with all of our dinners.
