Palazzo Giunta - Porta Marina Ortigia

Great location on the western side of Ortigia island. You could watch the sunset from the small balcony. Easy walk to restaurants and Ortigia markets and tourist spots. Room was comfortable and colourfully decorated. There was a mini fridge but it was stocked with wine and drinks for sale so we had to take them out to be able to store milk and water. The hotel is in the ZTL zone. The hotel sends your hire car details to local authorities so that you can drive to the hotel and drop off luggage before parking the car further out (or you can pay €15-20 to park close.

We didn’t pay for the breakfast and we’re glad because it didn’t look like value for money. There is no elevator and the stairs are quite narrow. So might be difficult to get luggage up the stairs for some (my husband carried both our bags up 2 flights of stairs).

Really beautiful place lovely old building with loads of character and a lovely view to go with it. Staff were really friendly and Rooms were really clean aswell. Fantastic stay!

Honestly, everything. The architecture resembled traditional Sicilian houses and, as a Sicilian, it made me feel right at home. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and genuinely cared about making sure we had the best possible stay. Their warmth and attention to detail made us feel truly looked after. The property was exceptionally clean, and it wasn't nearly as noisy as some of the reviews had suggested. The location was excellent, we were right in the center and within walking distance of everything. Our room also had a breathtaking view on the harbour.

The walls were quite thin so the rooms weren't soundproof, as other guests had mentioned. We could hear guests upstairs dragging their luggage across the floor or coughing from the room next to ours. I would also suggest adding 2 stools by the French balcony doors (inside) so guests can choose to take them out and sit to enjoy the breeze and the beautiful view in the evening. Despite this, I would happily stay here again, as everything else was perfect and exceeded our expectations.

Breakfast was delicious. Emily, our host was lovely. So friendly and knowledgeable and had lots of great advice and restaurant recommendations. The parking lot is right across the street so you don't have to drive in the city centre to get there.

I wish breakfast was earlier.
