Beautiful location with a good view over the city with a sufficient pool and nice nature around, although a bit far from the town centre. The rooms are totally comfortable and have a lot of details. The staff is beyond friendly, very personal and always present to help one out. The food is very good and can be easily personalized. Small and quaint hotel that just feels safe and personal.

In the end, I am very torn about this place. The buildings and grounds are pretty, but much smaller than they seem online. There aren't any grounds or gardens and also the pool is much smaller than thought. All in all, the common areas need a little bit of love and seem rather run-down in some places. The pool is not heated and a little dirty in some places. While there are many great places to sit for food, there is a lack of general enjoyment in the garden and the big tent just looks like a huge obstacle in the nature. The room was quirky and totally sufficient, but everything seemed a bit mixed and unmatched, slightly old, forgotten and run-down. There surely is a lot of love poured into this place, but it needs to be updated and speak more one coherent design language. Since the hotel is so small, the staff can feel a bit awkward at times and more like staying at a distant family member's house. The food was good and truly nothing to complain about, both dinner and breakfast, but for the high price of 40 USD per person for one Sri Lankan dinner just not special enough. We had a similar taste for 1/3rd of that price in many other locations in Sri Lanka. You also need to pre-book the exact dinner and breakfast time in advance, which makes your own stay a little inflexible. All in all, this is a nice hotel with love in it and great hosts, but really needs to adjust its price point or renovate and include some more amenities. At its current state, there are sadly many other better alternatives in Kandy.

Very welcoming staff, beautifully decorated reception room. Fun to stay in the Royal Tent, plenty of space and beautiful bathroom. Great facilities in room. Very pretty gardens with two tortoises, swimming pool and ornamental ponds. Stunning views on two sides. Really enjoyed being up out of the town. Staff very friendly and helpful and organised Tuktuks down to Kandy (10 mins) and back.

Such wonderful staff a beautiful location with great views 15 minutes from Kandy by Turk Turk The food was the best yet and the family had a cooking demonstration by the chef. Brilliant!

1.Location a bit remote but good if you want to relax at the villa mainly, though property arranges for tuktuk if you need to get to city center so it's just 15mins away from there 2. overpriced - that was my main gripe, for what it charges it failed to give value 3. small dinner and breakfast menu
