Odakyu Hotel de Yama

Beautiful classic Lakeside Hotel that originally belonged to a Japanese Baron. Gorgeous art deco fixtures and classic wood decor in common areas, the expansive lounge offers a free morning and evening drink service and restaurant has both a French and a Japanese restaurant, you can choose either for breakfast and dinner. Outstanding manicured gardens and a Lakeside Café that has a dog friendly terrace make this a real gem. Fantastic, classic Japanese customer service that goes above and beyond. There is a free shuttle bus that will take you to / from the boat dock at MotoHakone. The women’s hot spring was excellent, I love that they provide full-size towels as many hotels require you to bring the towels from your room. I also appreciated they included both drip coffee and creamer in the room. It was my first stay, but I will definitely be back!

Beautiful view, comfortable beds, easy walk to Moto-hakone, walkable path by lake, hotel shuttle. Outdoor seating option for breakfast.

Breakfast options a bit limited.

A quaint hotel that provides a country side charm with close proximity to Lake Ashi, accessible by buses to all the attraction sites in Hakone, it provides a place to rest and relaxation with its good size room and onsen; amazing food prepared by both Japanese and French kitchen and amazing service by all the staff.

If you don’t have a hired car, you will have to rely on the public transport to get to the town centre.

The view and location of the hotel are good.

The food options, overpriced in general, felt very dry and not welcoming, The majority of guests are 60+ couples.
