Maron Stone House

I stayed here for one night in the deluxe room w my gf. I felt like I am a guest in Mr. Ömer's home instead of a costumer in a hotel. I felt safe and warm thanks to the staff and the facilities. Also, it is really a wallet-friendly deal to stay. 10/10

The hotel was extremely thoughtful and welcoming. I arrived on an early morning flight and didn’t even ask for anything special, but when I came to leave my luggage, the front desk kindly checked me in right away. When I entered the room, the heating was already turned on, which made me feel very comfortable after the trip. The breakfast was delicious, the room was very clean, and the location is perfect—right in the center of Göreme, making it very convenient to go anywhere.

We booked this hotel wanting to treat ourselves to something nice. We have been saving and planning for this trip for a long time and let me tell you it was everything of a let down. We paid ***€ a night to stay here, which for us (young engaged couple) is a LOT of money. So let me please tell you why you shouldn't make the same mistake as us and book somewhere else. - the staff : the staff was cold and unwelcoming. We stayed there 3 days, we were polite and friendly, and didn't get a single smile back. Every interaction with them felt like we were disturbing. - The location: yes, the location is good because Göreme is very tiny and not matter where you are you are close to the center. So this one is no better than every other hotel. You can literally book anywhere in Göreme and be a 4 min walk away from the center. - The hotel : yes, it looks beautiful on the pictures, sadly they didn't show a lot of the things that are unacceptable for this place. For example, in our room (a suite) a lot of the amenities were broken or very old (see pictures). There was a really bad smell coming for the water in the bathroom which made me unsure whether I should use it to wash my face. The room wasn't cleaned at all for the entire stay (on our first day we used the cups in our room to drink the compelmentary tea, and they then sat there dirty for the next three days) bins are also not emptied, in short, there is zero room cleaning during the stay. I'm not asking for fresh sheets every morning, and I'm happy to reuse the same towel ; but come on... We also didn't have working side table lights (only the big ceiling light worked - talk about a cozy atmosphere...). I had to request the staff to provide us with working lights, which they did, but they clearly looked annoyed that I asked. - the rooftop : that was the reason we booked this hotel. We wanted a beautiful rooftop where we could watch the balloons, sit and enjoy a cup of tea, and relax. However the rooftop was completely empty. No tables, no carpet, no cushions to sit. (See pictures) This was really a shame because we were so excited about this. On top of that, it's not even a good viewpoint to watch the balloons because the balloons rise on a different side of the building. So that was a big let down. - contact : we reached out to this hotel before our arrivalvia agoda to ask a question regarding our check in. We reached out after our stay via email to let them know about all the mentioned issues. In both cases we, we received zero response.
