Albatross

The location is somewhat perfect. You can walk to the beach, there is a supermarket (with a wonderful lady and good products including fresh bread, tyropita, spanakopita, Valdo prosecco, etc) a few steps away. You can walk to Restaurant Angelos on the beach and have dinner there. This is by far the best: They know how to cook traditional Greek cuisine (in fact, many Greeks go there) and are very reasonably priced. We tried a few others and they were pretty bad and also expensive. Don't trust the reviews you find online, they are from tourists who do not have any cuisine culture...From the large balcony of apartment 11 you only see trees of different green color and the sea...Perfect place for an aperitif... The rooms are extremely spacious, apt 11 with two room and 2 bathrooms is 60 sm. Our other studio n.5 was also extremely generous in space. The manager was very generous to us in many ways.

The cleaning lady does an excellent job. But she is alone and sometimes it is unpredictable whether she will clean the studio or not. The description of apt 11 as a two bedroom apt might confuse some: it consists of two bathrooms and two extremely large rooms. One is a living room with two beds, the other a bedroom so large that it can easily accomodate even 4 beds.

Eine sehr gepflegte Anlage mit toll ausgestatteten geräumigen Appartements. Freundlichkeit und familiäre Atmosphäre kommt allen Gästen zu Gute.

We waren heel blij met Giorgos en zijn vader als gastheer. Giorgos legde contact met de car rental, reserveerde een taxi van de ferry naar Albatross en van Albatross naar de luchthaven. De vader vertelde ons meer over interessante plekken op Samos. De fijne bar op 250 meter met elke vrijdag live muziek is een meerwaarde.

Persoonlijk viel Kampos Marathokampou ons als locatie wat tegen vanwege wat te veel op toeristische consumptie gericht. Dat doet een beetje afbreuk aan de authenticiteit van de kustlijn die trouwens heel mooi is.
