As usual and excellent stopove with great food

We know this hotel well. A good stopover from the Caen day boat. Easy to find, easy parking. Excellent food and lovely staff.

This year we were in the old building. We prefer the new rooms.

Well appointed hotel Helpful staff. Wonderful food, with very high quality restaurant if rather formal, and assuming you are happy to pay high prices.

Perhaps a bit expensive for the facilities offered, though to be fair, it appears to have a great sauna jacuzzi and pool which we were unable to use and would no doubt help to justify this.

the dinner. what a fantastic dinner. goodness, the dinner was superb. oh, also, I mustn’t forget to mention the dinner.

The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The room was clean, comfortable and the bathroom excellent.

The breakfast was very average and disappointing given that the chef of the establishment has a Michelin star. Coffee and bread ordinary, cake inedible, orange juice tasted vaguely of grapefruit and was sour. The room was very cold (turned thermostat up to 30C but made no difference) but the bathroom was very warm and the towel rail so boiling hot that we left the door open to let it warm up the bedroom. No ventilation in either room, so when we used the shower the whole place became steamed up.

we booked this hotel for its star Michelin restaurant and because there was a pool. Both were closed! we have been informed less than 2 weeks before for the restaurant so impossible to find an alternative. not even the restaurant was closed but also the breakfast! The solution proposed was to walk 5-10min in a lower quality hotel (Best Western) at a 10 eur cost!! considering that we paid the full price of the room and would have expected a discount on the room rate as there was no more breakfast, no more restaurant and no pool; or at least a free breakfast in the other hotel! regarding the pool, we haven’t been not even advised it was closed.

Arnaud viel's kitchen is extraordinary, he is a real artist and everything was really delicious!

The service was very snobby and the opposite of charming, very sad for the extraordinary cook. In the very small rooms everything falls apart such as toilet door, toilet lavatory etc. A real pity the hotel doesn't match with the fantastic kitchen

The food was exceptional. We eat in a lot of good restaurants, but this was off the scale. Fresh, delicious, rich and each ingredient had it's own story and the owners and staff knew their ingredients story.

Ok in the right place for a stop over

Our room overlooked the pool in a separate building to the main restaurant and hotel. It was clean. Easy to find and there was parking.

Staff inflexibility couldn't accommodate us in the restaurant and couldn't do room service or any snacks in the bar area. Weak wifi in our room. Very basic for the price, plastic water glasses.

Amazing. We had a wonderful stopover!

Dinner was superb. Every course quite exceptional and well presented, served with a smile a good humour. The breakfast was fantastic huge selection of cake! Fruit very fresh and a good selection of juice. Very good sommelier. Worth a detour for.
