Fantastic Hotel
Very comfortable great location rooms clean and everything you needed
7.0 / 10.0
We enjoyed the break and the location but we probably wouldn’t choose to stay again
It was clean
It was in need of some TLC. In our room all the doors had strips missing off them, there was a seperate toilet but with no sink which we found strange. The seats in the room were really dirty and needed a good clean. We were overlooking a kind of playground that looked really neglected. It was very noisy early hours morning and then again from 6 ish but I know that isn’t the fault of the hotel just inconsiderate people. The other thing we didn’t particular like was that anybody could access the corridors to the rooms whether they are staying at the hotel or not and there didn’t seem to be staff at the front desk very much. At other hotels we have stayed you have to use your key card to access the rooms so you had to be a guest.

We loved our short stay and would stay again.
The hot food breakfast was really good and the porridge option was a nice addition. All very tasty and plenty of choice. Our standard room was spacious, warm, comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. Due to our age, we especially liked the fact we were on the ground floor and was within easy walking distance to everything.
The cold food breakfast options were adequate, but the options were minimal - poor fruit options. The bathroom suite was good and having a bath in our ensuite was a good bonus, We couldn't get the towel radiator to work; the flooring was a bit dusty looking on the edges and corners; and the door was a bit tatty.

A lovely break by the seaside
On check-in we were given a room upgrade to sea view and balcony which was really lovely. This room was worth the price we paid - I don't know about the room we originally booked. Room was spacious, facilities were very good for children and the swimming pool was great! Breakfast had a good variety and was plentiful.
The complimentary toiletries were not replaced for the second day and we had to ask at reception for more. The carpet in our room was thread-bare in parts and the room generally needed a bit of refreshing but it didn't stop us enjoying our stay

A very pleasant stay.
The breakfast was acceptable however there was a fairly long queue at the time we went. The serving area is too small for the volume of people staying
Provide a larger serving area for the self serving breakfast

Hotel staff very friendly. Room large but could be cleaner. Hotel itself looking quite shabby.
Room was large and a bonus looking out to the sea front.
Room was very basic. Could have done with some pictures. Not very clean in places. Could see dirty areas. Bathroom basin had a really unhealthy looking plug and the plug hole was just a hole which was easy to loose anything down. Doors to the balcony very old and hard to slide.

Excellent stay and lo action but attention needed in the rooms to maintenance.
There was a lot of activities for the under 10 s in the hotel.
Excellent location close to beach and beach amenities over the road.
The room had some maintenance and repair issues.
Carpet had a burn mark and was damaged in places.
The breakfast room was chaotic and very busy.
We had to queue and whilst we accepted there was a lot of children fo the Halloween e ent it was an issue.
However staff coped well and breakfast was good and hot.

Facilities for the kids were good although you do have to pay separately for them. Food was good and the children enjoye
Facilities for kids.
Needs updating, decor tired and old fashioned, rooms look like a hostel, kids bunk beds felt unsafe, mattresses need replacing I woke up in pain with my back.

Fantastic for families
Fantastic family hotel with great facilities. Breakfast was piping hot. Rooms nice and big with plenty of storage.
Toilet was on the other side of the bedroom to the bathroom. It was just in a little cupboard like room of its own and carpeted. This seemed a bit odd.

Well worth a visit and highly recommend
Great clean hotel, good facilities and nice staff.
Sleep wasn’t too good, pillows very flat and hard. Also not the hotels fault but room above was very noisy late on.

Nice comfortable bed, a good evening meal too.
Room was very dated, the TV was so old and so does not even have BBC1.

We visited with our grandchildren, we all enjoyed our stay
The breakfast was excellent, didn’t have to wait for a table. The only thing that let it down was no cups, no butter, milk and juice needed filling. No plates.
Overall I preferred it last year when we visited but the food was good
I think staff training should be given. It was obvious the young staff didn’t have any basic awareness of thing running out for example, plates, cups, glasses, butter, milk, juices . I witnessed a young man filling up the bread with bare hands! Surely gloves should be worn.

Brilliant stay
We had was given a free room upgrade to a family room with sea view we was over the moon with the room. Our children loved the swimming pool, children’s club and evening entertainment, so much to do for children throughout the stay. Breakfast was a bonus in the morning 10/10 all round
Not much to fault, we was charged twice for our children’s passes but this was a simple mistake on the booking system, was quickly rectified by the staff when we spoke about this

Need to sort the heating controls , they would save quite a bit of money.
Self service breakfast was very good , had a good selection of breakfast food
The down side to the Hotel was the heating in the bedrooms has no controls on the radiators , so bedtime was more like a sauna , we slept on top of the bed covers , the heating was on all night.

Disappointing, and grossly over priced.
Dinner on the first evening and the pleasant staff. The very respectful gentleman on the reception at night and morning.
On arrival we were given a room with the windows blacked out, and had to request another room. When I mentioned I had requested a sea view I was advised I should have confirmed this earlier. The room was tired and had stains on the carpet and one of the chairs. The hair dryer was missing. The breakfast and daytime staff seemed totally disinterested in the guests, and everything seemed to revolve around a wedding on the coming Saturday, which was set up and collecting dust from 3pm Thursday. The fried eggs had obviously been cooked at 7.30am and by 8am resembled plastic. At 8am the tea pots were still missing and I had to request a desert spoon to eat the porridge, the raisins for this only been put out after I has finished.

Not what we’d hoped for, for the price
Location was great and the room size and bathroom were great.
The property needs a lot of maintenance work doing. Some areas are very tired. Whilst the hotel room was large, it’s very dated. The pool area was ok but looks shabby. The women’s changing facilities and showers were extremely grim. Dirty, only 2 showers working. For an expectation of quality it definitely didn’t deliver especially for nearly a £1000 for a weeks stay.,not the highend establishment it was once known for unfortunately
For 3 days there was no coffee in the bar area available. Instant coffee was given at the menu price of filter.

In our opinion this hotel is very dated so not worth the money we paid .
Staff are lovely.
We booked a room with a balcony , the balcony hadn't been cleaned , we had a leak in the bathroom ,also no plug in the sink . When we went down for breakfast , the chairs were disgusting. Hence we would not be going again

Pleasant stay in a great location
Breakfast was nice, room was clean and pleasant. Swimming pool was great.
Noise of the event downstairs was far too loud. Myself and my 7 yr old struggled to get to sleep. I was not made aware of the event at check in, had I been I’d have requested a room far away from the noise!

Had far better hotel stays in St Anns.. Poor Value
Breakfast ok.
Obnoxious youth telling us to go inside before 11 as guest were sleeping. This is a holiday hotel. Floors vey haphazard up and down ramps and stairs. Even when you take lights there are stairs to climb Room back of beyond. Bed uncomfortable. Dirty patio doors a d balcony. No fridge. No continental section at breakfast

DO NOT BOOK THIS AWFUL HOTEL
The location was good, the staff were nice.
The hotel balcony was tiny, the glass on the balcony and windows to the balcony were filthy, the carpet in the room was badly stained looked very dirty, the mattress had collapsed, very uncomfortable did not sleep, the furniture was old, cheap and full of marks and chips, the tiles on the bathroom ceiling were not fitted properly full of gaps, entrance to the room looked like a building site. The bar downstairs said adults only after 9pm that definitely was not the case as there was 8 kids in the bar and that was at 10.45pm as I gave up and went back to my disgusting room. I left a day earlier than I was supposed to i checked out at 10am Saturday 23rd as I have never stayed in a hotel this bad. The cheese sandwich is ordered with the cream of tomato soup, the bread was stale and I still don't know what the black/brown lump i took out the soup was. I tried to get a cappuccino at breakfast as the coffee from the machine was so strong it was undrinkable but I was told there was no way of getting a cappuccino even if I paid for one. The breakfast was cheap ingredients and the fried eggs were very rubbery. At £209 a night i feel totally robbed! I paid £418 for 2 nights but stayed one night, awful, just absolutely disgusting. The windows in the glass lift are disgusting haven't been washed in years by the looks of it.

Great thank-you!
Well located, lots of facilities for entertainment and the food was great! We were surprised you could go back and get seconds or more even if you fancied!
I didn’t realise it was a 3 star hotel for the price of stay. I was assuming there would have been a mini refrigerator in the room as we came with a baby under one. Would have been ideal to store made up bottles.
