Dog friendly comfort in the beautiful Black Mountains

Penmaen is a well designed and well appointed newer house which is spotlessly clean. The house is as per the pictures. Jayne and Chris were responsive prior to arrival and helpful while we were there - they live next door but left us to ourselves. We appreciated the local walks leaflets in the house info folder. There is a garage with a freezer and washing machine, which we also used to store walking boots when it was wet. Talgarth is a great centre for exploring this beautiful part of Wales. There are some nice places to eat locally which are dog friendly.

Though the kitchen is generally very well equipped, there was no large pan suitable for cooking pasta, and a dearth of pan lids! We would have preferred bath sheets to the fairly small towels provided. The TV was an old one, and we couldn't connect it to the Internet to get digital services - to be fair we didn't ask about this so it may have been possible. These are all small things which would not put us off booking this lovely house again

Little things matter

Jayne made us feel welcome, and it was well kept, clean and spacious and we absolutely loved the location.

The backroom bed was a bit stiff, but others were fine. Not enough hand soap, toilet roll, kitchen roll, no disinfectant wipes or spray in the kitchen or cupboard and the can opener was broken and we had to buy one.

Great holiday home near Hay on Wye

Lovely house, great location for Hay on Wye, only a 10 minute drive. The owners were very friendly. We had a great weekend and our dogs enjoyed it too!
