Ospitalia del Mare Hostel

Its 5min walk to the beach. Its right next to cinque terre. The town is small and quiet but also lively at night. You have access to everything 24/7. Im pretty easy going so I didn’t mind most of the things I did not like. Also there was always hot water. Plus a nice small terrace where the wifi also worked. You also get a quite large vertically locker.

The wifi only work in or near the kitchen for me and if it did connect in my room it would keep disconnecting. The beds have no type of privacy screen or anything. There was a heat wave when I went and there was no type of cooling. There was a dehumidifier though. Everything is pretty old

+ AMAZING, the best place to stay in Cinque Terre if you’re on a budget. Amazing town, superb location, close to the beach and train station. If you’re torn between staying in La Spezia or here, I’d def recommend this place. + I stayed in a female dorm (I think they divide it themselves) and made a lot of friends! + Great places around for food, drinks etc.. + Big lockers, you can leave the bag at the reception after check out - BUT you can only pick it up during the reception opening times. + Free towels

- There could be another shelf in the bathroom to put stuff away while showering etc + extra chairs/shelfs in the room to put clothes on - Upper bed doesn’t have a socket - The ladder to the upper bed is not stable at all, the bed can be very noisy when moving - There are frogs in front of the building making a lot of noise haha Keep in mind there is no fridge etc, but I didn’t need to use it

Great location for accessing hiking trails. Would definitely stay again! Simple but good value for money, helpful staff :)!

I liked that it was close to the ocean and the train station.

The staff wasn’t very kind. When I checked in I was told my room number and how to reach it. There were no other instructions or guidance. So I asked if there was a kitchen and where I could find it and the staff was kind of rude as if I was being a nuisance to even want to know where it was. Later in my stay, I asked the front desk if there was another WiFi to use upstairs and they said there’s only one and that it should reach the common areas and I told her that it doesn’t and she got a little flustered as if it was my fault the WiFi doesn’t reach the common areas. It only works if you are in the reception area and absolutely no where else! So if I wanted to use my phone I had to sit on the bench by the front desk. The property wasn’t updated. It was kind of run down. Spiders everywhere, dust and grime everywhere. You get what you pay for I guess but so far it’s been the worst hostel I’ve ever stayed at. It’s sad because it has so much potential but I don’t think the owners care. I wouldn’t stay here again and I would recommend paying more for another place.
