The Pines Hotel

Very clean hotel , excellent views from dining room and lounge. great breakfast choice and quantity , attentive and pleasant staff. Access via private steps to beach. Ample hot water ,nice towels. Good room make up service.We would consider staying here again - great location.

Sorry bed was too small for two of us and uncomfortable. Shower head was difficult to angle successfully without cutting off water supply. Drinks in bar were expensive. Evening meals a little too fussy for us - we ate out.

The room was warm and clean, staff were very friendly. Breakfast was great and plenty of it.

i think a small fridge would be helpful

The location is good with great views over the bay.The hotel is very clean and staff were pleasant.Clientele were mostly older retired people and were very well behaved!

Our room was a twin situated above the kitchen with a rather smelly extractor fan outside the window.This stopped me from opening the window as food frying smells would have come in. Annoyingly machines were switched on at 6.30 each morning which woke me up, with a radio playing and staff talking….we were above the kitchen so noise was inevitable , it was just unfortunate, nobody’s fault.

Public areas were good - nicely presented. View from rear hotel beautiful. Staff, on the whole, friendly and helpful.

Room! 2 single rooms booked - newly refurbished but .... awful! Teeny tiny and looking at car park through drab net curtains. One room had dressing table with stool that could not be pulled out as not enough space between it and bed Mirror light not working - needed as in dark room. Reported Friday 'no handyman until Monday' We left Sunday..... Would definitely avoid rooms 11 and 20 at all costs. Hotel acoustics poor - ground floor rooms noisy especially as cars parking immediately outside, loading/off loading luggage etc Steps to beach challenging - not for those not 100% mobility. Likewise walk into Swanage. Car parking limited.
