Bathroom has a ventilation problem

The receptionist was super nice and friendly. I was able to check in very late in the evening because of a delayed flight. It was a good price and the location is great. The kitchen is super nicely kept and cute, and there’s coffee and tea for whomever wants. I’m not really sure what makes it very eco beyond simple things like recycling, and duel-flush toilets - which in my view is kind of the most basic thing nowadays no? Late in the evening a family entered the room. I thought it was sweet that the hostel allows families, but might not be for everyone.

As far as I could see there was no signage for the hostel. I walked up and down the street where the address said but couldn’t find it. Eventually I called and got instructions, there was an unmarked door (as far as I could see) with a buzzer to enter. I found the hostel very small and stuffy. The bed wasn’t very comfortable, and a high pitched sound coming from some sort of ventilation outside of the door. At checkin I was asked to sign rules and conditions which were not part of the booking.com listing conditions, and then I had to pay a 20 euro deposit, also not listed in the conditions on booking.com. When I asked what it was for, the receptionist couldn’t really answer. I paid of course, and got it back 6 hrs later when I left, but lack of clarity there and what if I didn’t have 20 euros?
