Location, near Termini Train station and Bus Station, market, Colosseum and other monuments

The location was perfect. It is especially good if you are arriving and leaving by train. The building is near many beautiful and historic landmarks. There are also many nice restaurants very nearby.

We arrived on a Sunday afternoon and knew that there would be no reception. However, the property wouldn’t provide the entry instructions via the normal Booking.com message tool. Instead, they required the information to go through a 3rd party app, an account on their website, WhatsApp, or email. We didn’t want to set up a separate app, or provide our WhatsApp number, so we opted to manage our contact through email (not ideal). It took many emails back and forth to get information on how to enter the building. I wish the property would have used the Booking.com tools, as that would have been simpler and easier.

The location is right next to the main metro station and many bus stations. The room had a nice view, good lighting, was clean and kept clean by staff, also the bathroom was great.

The room was very small, but the bathroom was incredibly small. Even the bathroom with toilet and shower in a private train was more accommodating. The toilet wasn't flushing properly, but we figured out how to get around it. The a.c. of our room had "hiccups"; it would suddenly stop from working in the middle of the night, but we figured out how to make it work. Because of that, we didn't mention it to the staff. After a couple of days into our stay, we got a message from the staff, asking for our permission to let the a.c. repair man to get into our room. We were out of town on a day trip, and anyway, that was a couple of hour's notice, and also, it was no mentioning about a.c. not working properly on our check-in. Staff honesty at the check-in and avoidance of late notice from staff to access our room, would be highly recommended. Also, less than an hour before our arrival, we received a WhatApp message with the details of the location of the apartment. Due to the traffic noise we didn't realise receiving it. This details should be released at least straight away they got our payment via Booking.com., not only they were aware that we were on the way to them. Luckily for us, it was daytime, the gates were open and and the gatekeeper of the building advised us about the location of the apartment. It was such an unpleasant surprise that Aelius is not a hotel! Aelius House is a business which has a space into a building with private apartments; their space has an office and 3 rooms given out to turists and listed on Booking. Com. This should be specified clearly on Booking. Com. It was too late for us to find another accommodation.
