Renovated rooms. Shared bathrooms were clean ( begin March when not a lot of tourists) Close to park and supermarkets

Could have been cleaner. Not just shared showers but no sink or toilet in room either. Nowhere to keep toiletries, no bedside tables, rooms just like a prison cell (without a toilet).

Good location and staff, clean rooms and shared bathrooms.

It felt a bit minimal: small blankets, small beds, blackout curtain didn’t do much (should’ve brought a sleep mask).

The main selling point of this place is its location. Just 1km off of Keleti station makes it the best choice if you're arriving at odd hours and don't want the usual hassle with private hosts or the excessively online and impersonal processes that have become way too common in Budapest. It was my 10th or 11th stay so I knew what to expect. Other than location, the place is underwhelming. It gets its job done but that's about it. Bathrooms and showers are communal and there is no elevator (RIP my back with the heavy luggage). The price is fair on location alone. The neighborhood isn't the safest or the nicest in Budapest, but it's overall a good choice for a few days stay. Especially if you travel alone.

The huge hassle of getting in and out during night time. The de facto curfew is by far the most annoying part. Budapest is a tourist hub. People going out at night is common but this hotel is still not ready for it. It's also inconsistent. In some days it was open at 3AM, in other days the receptionist was out by 11PM and had to ring the door bell and wait a lot to be welcomed in. And listen to some curses in Hungarian too. Wi-Fi mostly doesn't work if you're too far from the reception. I had to carry my laptop to the reception to make a quick upload.
