Hotel Kärntnerhof by keyone

Room was lovely - very spacious and well furnished. It looked like it had recently been renovated. We had a great view of the Grossglockner from our balcony. The sauna facilities were nice too as was the breakfast. The self check in was very easy.

We didn't see any staff (except at breakfast). Not a big deal but made the experience feel a bit impersonal.

After arriving in the evening following a long day of travel, you want comfort. Unfortunately, the issues started right at the reception, where there wasn't a single soul around... When trying to check in using their system, our Booking.com reservation codes didn't work. You have to listen to a German-speaking AI on the provided phone line... before finally—and with some difficulty—getting through to a live "Keyone" representative who promises to send the necessary code but is in a rush to end the call. Getting the code takes a while... Once checked in, the game of "getting into the room" begins: the system gives you a code for the key box, but when you open it, there’s no key inside (the codes actually work on the room doors themselves), yet there’s no information explaining this! Meanwhile, the lobby is full of angry, frustrated people. It’s a ghost hotel with absolutely no staff present. And just after finally getting into the room, you receive a reminder not to forget to check out by 10:00 AM. The floors in the room were sandy. It’s a lovely little hotel, but it really lacks a person to greet you and make you feel welcome...
