Worse that I expected

The staff were really great, there was a garage in the basement.

The location wasn't very good, there was noticeable amortization, mainly in the rooms, the breakfast is traditionally weak in Meininger hotels with not much variety.

Very confortable

Clean room, clean bedsheets and towels, it had coat hangers, table, sockets, lamps. Bathroom spacious enough with place available for putting pur own cosmetics. Nice staff, nice bar, and i loved that it had a common kitchen where i could take rest and have a tea in the evening. Close to shops and center.

Standart Twin Room

Very comfortable room for a short stay, with a cozy mattress and spotless bedroom and bathroom. The reception staff were polite and extremely helpful. Breakfast was delicious and offered a good variety. Perfect for those traveling with small children or anyone seeking complete peace and quiet.

Terrific value

Terrific value for money, great location handy for the Rhône and trams/metro and plenty of places to eat/drink nearby. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Overall a very pleasant vibe.

The yellow room decor was a little unusual and I could hear the elevator close and open its doors all night.

Very bad

If I have to say something positive, this could be free internet + location to subway/metro + breakfast.

What I did not like it and makes me not to choose this hotel anymore 1st - there is no minibar(small refrigerator) 2nd - so tiny wardrobe (can’t be OK at all for clothes to stay 6 nights for 2 Persons) 3rd - must request cleaning room. Otherwise, no cleaning at all

A place for youngsters

This very minimalistic hotel has a kitchen for use by guests, laundry facilities, airco, and extremely friendly staff. Very convenient is the parking (15€/day) under the hotel (drive carefully as the spaces are quite narrow). Location is not fantastic but there is good public transport at a few steps. I also appreciated excellent isolation and enjoyed a quiet stay, even though there were noisy rugby fans and schoolchildren next day.

Our room was vaguely clean but the corners were packed with dirt. The beds are narrow and the head cushions of very bad quality. The light is so uncomfortable and harsh in the rooms ( not able to dim).

Overall really great hotel and would stay again

Lovely hotel, great decor and convenient parking. Enjoyed the breakfast and staff were really helpful.

The only drawback was we went to the bar in the evening after we’d been out for tea and there was no one there serving drinks for s long time do we have up and went to bed.

Perfect for a family to explore Lyon

The kids loved the bunk beds in our family room, particularly the little cubby hole with a light beside each bed. They also loved our fifth floor view of the railway tracks nearby. The communal kitchen facilities were great to self-cater some meals. We also tried the buffet breakfast which was varied and good quality. Free for our under five and half price for our seven year old. The location worked well for us, you can walk to tram and metro stations to access anywhere else in the city. There are also a good number of bars, restaurants and grocery stores within a few minutes walk. A little playground is just a couple of blocks away too.

There is no pool or heath suite etc but we didn't miss these because there is so much to explore in the city itself. It's ideal for a city break in Lyon.

Overall it was good and we would like to stay in Meininger Hotel again for another time.

The breakfast was really good. The variety of food was more than enough and everyone could easily find something to eat. Especially the croissants were really delicious. The staff was so helpful and kind.

The pillows were a little uncomfortable.

Was not the best part of Lyon but between a lot restraurants and bars. Everything esle was very nice. A good place to stay for lyon. Thank to the staff
