Muratie Wine Estate

The word that comes to mind is privilege. To stay surrounded by such history. I stayed alone. I loved the silence at night. The staff leaves at 17:30 and return at 7:00 the next morning. You are isolated on the farm but I felt very safe. During the daytime the restaurant and wine tasting is on your doorstep but it is a very pleasant atmosphere. I would suggest the isolation at night might not for everyone traveling alone, but I loved it. The views outside your accommodation is unsurpassed but the blinds are drawn in your dwelling during the day for privacy. You are surrounded by books and antiques and history. The location is great and 10 minutes from Stellenbosch and surrounded by other wine farms. The staff were very warm and welcoming and the breakfast was delicious.

This is an old-established winery, owned over many years by related family members, one of whom was a well-known artist. The place feels like a family-run operation (although it is a sizable operation) and the room we had wasn't a room -- it was a whole, fascinating apartment with a huge living room (where the artist painted), a huge bedroom with immense furniture, and endless other stuff. We really enjoyed being here.

Really beautiful stay in amazing historical vineyard! Lush gardens, stunning views, welcoming staff and food was amazing too.

it was in a beautiful part of nature and surrounded by such lovely energy. we loved the staff and the delicious breakfast in the garden. great service from everyone and very sweet staff.

the room was very old and not very clean.
