Unforgettable!

Saint Paul and its morning light are breathtaking but it’s the beauty of Maison aux Bonsais and the kindness of host, Luc, that is truly astounding. He takes into account the needs and wants of tired travelers arriving in a small village and fills the refrigerator and cupboard with necessities and treats. This attention to detail and consideration goes for everything big and small in the apartment, everything you may need is already there. Most valuble and memorable is his thoughtfulness and attentiveness. Luc gives his all selflessly to make his guests comfortable and happy in his marvelous wonder filled home.

Maison Bonsai is a gem in Saint-Paul-de-Vence

Maison Bonsai is a rare find in Saint-Paul-de-Vence. Family-run and full of character, it made for a wonderful stay. The rooms are beautifully done, with quality linens and attention to every detail. The kitchen is thoughtfully stocked — especially helpful since groceries in St-Paul are limited — and fresh croissants arrive each morning. Luc and his son genuinely make sure you’re looked after. An exceptional rental, truly special.

A perfect end to our holiday in a traditional French village residence.

The property was well stocked, spacious and centrally located in the old town. The owners were helpful in every way possible.

High rating for this apartment led us to a bad choice.

Location and kindness of the owner, offered fresh croissant, full fridge and wine.

We had the ground floor apartment where privacy was limited, furthermore the wooden windows and door did not provide any type of insulation, letting inside the exhaust of a car going up the small street and of course the sound of people passing by just talking (felt like they walked next to the bed). The sliding barn-door of the bathroom did not slide, so privacy lost there too. Hanging clothes on top of a mop is not considered a proper closet. Mattress was awful, practically bending in the center and I am a petit woman. We paid for three nights and left after staying just one ...the best decision to not let the awful start ruin our Provance vacation... The owner kindly said he was sorry, recognazing the matress problem, but there was not any gesture to prove how sorry he was, like offering a refound (even partial) saying sorry would have had meaning. Of course we did not ask for one. We have the responsibility of choosing it.

Lovely design and quiet stay with an artistic finish. Ideal for couple and peaceful French ambience. Will stay again. Great food too for the breakfast.

This is such a lovely old house. Full of character and antiquities but with all modern-day facilities and necessities. Super location, super views. Michael and Luc are super friendly and welcoming. Superb!

A time travel and a luxury experience

Such a magical stay at la maison... Both a time travel and a luxury experience, and the human quality of their hosts is remarkable. Definitely the best part of our trip through southeastern France.

Superb

This lovely hotel is located in the village of Saint-Paul-de-Vence and blends into the surrounding landscape. living room, bedroom, kitchen and washroom bathroom was spacious and I was able to spend it slowly. In addition, wine and other beverages and cheese、ham in the refrigerator It was a free and thoughtful service. Thank you for Luc's bright and kind response. Traveling to the parking lot by car will require a small car or good driving skills as it passes through fairly tight space.

100% recommend. Not only a beautiful location with easy access to nearby cities and towns, but our hosts were absolutely lovely. They took us for a drink on our first night with local friends which was lovely, and were hospitable and friendly our entire stay. They had thought of nice touches that go beyond what most accommodation provides. We were so sad to leave but looking forward to coming back soon hopefully.

Lovely village, eclectic accommodations

Well situated in the medieval village, although cars and people pass within inches of the door because of the narrow lanes. Interior is an eclectic mix of the ancient architecture with modern conveniences. Not much natural light or ventilation but plenty of electrical lights. Plenty of nice wine glasses, plates, coffee pods, assorted foods in the refrigerator and cupboard - actually it has EVERYTHING including both a human scale and a luggage scale!

Unfortunately for my arrival, a substitute cleaner was sent in to clean and she had not the foggiest idea how to clean anything. Management apologized as best they could.

J’adore La Maison aux Bonsais

We loved this wonderful apartment in the beautiful town of Saint Paul de Vence. It is extremely peaceful and comfortable and decorated with love and care. I have never experienced such a well stocked kitchen in my life! It had absolutely everything you need and more, even a jar of Vegemite (fellow Australians - you understand!). Our host Luc was charming and made check in/check out seamless. We will definitely stay here again on future trips to this gorgeous part of France. Merci beaucoup :)

Highly recommend staying here, I guess best off season is best (stayed early January)

The apartment is inside the walls of the medieval village, and in a stunning building. Micheal is a great host and very respectful of his guests. He provided everything you might expect in a fully fridge for late arrival checkins. And delivered fresh croissants in the morning. The place is very quiet and perfect for relaxing. Wifi coverage is excellent too.

Nothing specifically, perhaps provide a moka to make coffee.

Excellent apartment fully furnished with a very good location inside the city walls. Amazing host who helped us with parking (inside the city walls), welcomed us with a fridge full of food & wine and booked an excellent restaurant for us. We had a wonderful experience staying and for sure a place to come back

A superb gem & experience in a medieval city

This is a superb place in a medieval city. Two fully furnished apartments with individual rooms, kitchen and bath. A truly amazing experience when you think about the construction, setup and service. Michael and his dad go above and beyond expectations. Some examples: 1) fresh croissants baked at 2 AM at the day of the departure ! 2) A welcome invitation taking us for drinks on the day of arrival in a hot day During summertime it may get hot. AC needed some gas charge, but fans were provided. Michael and his dar are both superb hosts! They provided recommendations for restaurants (and even make reservations for you), activities, etc. Lovely medieval city. We would stay again anytime when back to Nice area with no hesitation. Tips: Contact Michael the day of you arrival to get some guidance how to get there and parking (this is a closed medieval city, you will not be able to get in without permission).

Perfect stay, fantastic hosts, everything you need gor your holiday!

Very friendly hosts: father and son, who took care of us alll the time. We were surprised by welcome wine and refreshments and all what we need as a family in the refrigerator. It was a pleasure to stay there, sitting outside in the street in front of the appartment door in particular. Highly recommended.

The best location but even better than best are the father and son hosts. The apartment itself is gorgeous with delights of old historic charms with modern facilities and loads of freebies in the kitchen. Just open your door and you have the views only St Paul can offer.

The location was superb. Our hosts, Luc & Michael were very helpful. They even booked restaurant reservations for us, which were not easy to secure during high season. The apt was filled with beautiful antiques and art, and our hosts were a joy to get to know. I would highly recommend the property.

Perfection in Saint-Paul-de-Vence

I liked everything! Prefect location, perfect accommodations, perfect hosts, and they went above and beyond any expectations; when my flight was delayed and I didn’t arrive until 11pm, Mike met me and escorted me to the B&B, where dinner was waiting for me, since all restaurants were closed. You can’t go wrong booking here!
