Rare, special country hideaway with excellent hosts!

Perfect cottage for an idyllic country break. Nature and animals right there for you, great space to relax or get some steps in around the farm and forest. Fab kitchen (full size range) and lots of space to cook and store. We’ve been looking for a space like this to escape to for a long time… thank you Julie & Barry (and Duchess!) we will be back!

We had such a wonderful stay, the location and cottage are beautiful, the hosts Julie & Barry couldn't of been nicer and it was so lovely to see all the animals running around happily. We didn't want to leave and would absolutely go back in a heartbeat!

We are coming back!

The location is beautiful just bordering the forest. The walk into the woods were amazing. The horses and chickens were very friendly and our kids loved them! They even had a ride in the quad bike! The owners are amazing. They were very kind and gave us loads of information on surrounding areas for walk, beaches etc. The house is beautiful and clean with loads of games and soft toys for kids. My daughter was so excited to see the teddies!! Overall, this is one of our best holidays!

A Welsh Mountain paradise!

We loved everything about our stay, it was just perfect! The animals are so lovely and friendly at the farm and we felt as if we'd known the hosts all of our lives! The cottage was idyllic, with fresh flowers, welsh cakes and even Easter eggs for the children. All you could hear was the bird song. A Welsh mountain paradise!

We felt at home, valued and enjoyed our stay immensely.

The cleanliness was exceptional - truly exceptional. The cottage, itself, was very comfortable and homely. The animals - of various kinds - were a delight. The hosts were hospitable, helpful and friendly. A relaxing, stress-free, happy three nights' vacation.

The central heating didn't work - but I failed to mention this until we were leaving and it could well have been my fault anyway.

The host was very friendly and helpful, easy to approach. Really loved the log burner. Made the stay so homely and relaxing.

As I was in the area for work, it would have been better if the WiFi was stronger. This is in no way a criticism of the property, just for my situation.

Great location, great cottage, welcoming hosts and lots of friendly animals. Good family fun

We're probably going to repeat what other guests already said. The place is just great if you want to be out of the grid, and still it's quite good base camp to scout around the South West of Wales. Julie and Barry were very respondent before arrival and welcoming when we were there. It was particularly delightful for our 4-year-old to be visited every day by a new friendly animal and to run free in the sizeable garden. The cottage has all comfort we could expect. We had a great time at Cwmddol Fawr

We were a bit disappointed not to have a folder in the cottage with information of various attractions and sites of interest in the surrounding, but we realised afteward that it was just a consequence of the COVID safety rule ( item impossible to keep covid proof), Julie and Barry usually have such folder in normal time, and they were always good advise on thing to do when chatting with them.
