About this cottage rental

'Y Cartws' is a renovated outbuilding (formerly the cart-house and stables) on a sheep farm - Maesyfelin. The owners, Paul and Eirlys Williams are the 7th generation of the family to have farmed here. Y-Cartws offers the ideal base however way you wish to spend your time exploring the coast and countryside of beautiful West Wales. We are both family and pet friendly. It is a very peaceful location with wonderful views across acres of lush green grass. Y Cartws is located in a great spot for star gazing with it's wonderful dark sky's at night weather permitting of course! We are happy to let you fly your drone from our fields. During the month of March and April we have the busy time of Lambing our visitors are welcome to have a look at what's going on or give us a hand with the feeding of molly lambs if we have any! The cottage itself has a large farmhouse kitchen, a laundry room and a living room on the ground floor. Upstairs are 2 bedrooms (1 double and 1 twin with the option of a cot and a put up single) and a shower room, Towels are also provided. It has oil central heating throughout. WI -FI is available through out the cottage password given at arrival, we are on EE Mobile phone's and have signal on the farm. We also provide a stair gate, cot and high chair for our younger guests. Children are welcome to play in the fields as long as there are no sheep in them at the time of your stay. Plenty of parking space is available. There is a bench and table just outside the cottage, also there is a private sitting area for our guests just to the side of the cottage through to a wildflower garden overlooking the fields, relax and unwind with a beautiful view.

Really wonderful stay in a very comfortable home on a welcoming sheep farm in the west Wales countryside. Its deep in the country but its an easy drive to the Pembrokeshire beaches to the north, south and west. Its a stunning part of the world. We particularly liked Mwnt, St Davids Head and Marloes Sands. After a long day on the beach, it was always a pleasure to return to the farm.

We had a great stay at this fully equipped cottage. We had a lovely welcome by Eirlys and Paul, who were on site and around when needed, but never imposed. The beds and chairs were super comfortable and the dogs were cute and friendly. The area has great pubs,beaches and coastal walks all within a short drive. Would recommend to a friend. We are looking forward to booking next year. 😎🐶

If you want to experience rural Wales this place is amazing. A beautiful converted barn for you to stay in on a sheep farm with 3 working dogs who are so friendly and want tummy rubs. The hosts were helpful and delightful and it was a great base to explore what Wales has to offer and we were here for 10 days and only touched the tip of the iceberg. Stay here,switched your phone off and enjoy the scenery.

Exceptional cottage, spacious and very clean in a wonderful relaxing setting. Well equipped kitchen with everything you need and easily enough room for a family of 4. Very well situated to explore the sites of South West Wales with lots of stunning places for walking in the countryside and hills. We had a wonderful weeks holiday and would like to thank Eirlys and Paul for being so welcoming and allowing us stay in their beautiful property.

Thank you so much Eirlys and Paul. We thoroughly enjoyed our short break to the farm. With plenty of beautiful walks and beaches a short drive away; It felt like the much needed tonic, after a long winter. The children absolutely loved being on the farm. The cottage itself is extremely comfortable, with ample space for a family of four. The kitchen is well equipped and the personal touches were much appreciated.

This property is exceptionally well set up with everything you need for an enjoyable and peaceful setting. It is spacious and easily would accommodation a family of four. The location is so quite but you have beaches to die for within easy driving distance. The hosts were very welcoming and gave us some very useful tips. It was just what we needed after months of lockdown and uncertainty.

Y-Cartwys is in a beautiful location, and is very comfortable, spacious and well equipped. The owners were very friendly and welcoming and even though the weather was a bit changeable we had a wonderful week exploring the coasts of both Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion as the cottage is so well placed. You could also easily access Carmarthenshire and other parts of Wales. Highly recommended.

We had a lovely time staying at the cottage and it makes a good base for lots of things to do in the area with the kids. The cottage was very clean and cosy and Eirlys and Paul were very welcoming along with Bella, Ben and Mai the four legged friends. If you want to get away to somewhere quiet and completely dark at night this is the place. We had a lovely stay thank you and we will be returning at some point.

Renting was a breeze. The property was delightful, with all the mod cons tucked into a warm and cozy home. The location was rural but an easy drive to activities. We loved the beautiful sites of the farm right outside the windows and their adorable dogs ready to greet us whenever we left. We would definitely rent this lovely property again!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Perfect location with a beautiful surroundings. Well located, everything seemed just half an hour away. Stunning night sky, never seen anything like it. The cottage itself was perfect, cosy, well equipped and felt like home. Eirlys and Paul were there if you needed them otherwise you just carry on as usual, a friendly welcome or bara brith and fresh eggs. Our children made new friends in Mai, Ben and Bella the farm dogs, for children that aren’t too keen or used to dogs they absolutely loved these friendly pups. The surrounding town of Cardigan is amazing, the beaches of Mwnt and Poppit Sands are great beaches. Plenty of culture, history and wildlife nearby and amazing views just on the drive in to Cardigan. We all loved this place and would happily book again tomorrow. Thanks Simon, Aurore, Elora, Eliot and Aiden.

Beautiful converted stone cottage with a large dining kitchen directly on the farm courtyard. The garden is not attached to the cottage but is a few metres away) which meant we had to accompany our dogs in the rain!) Very clean, comfortable with extremely hospitable hosts.

Relaxing getaway in fabulous family accommodation

Eirlys, Paul and their two sons were very kind and friendly hosts. Whilst we had some trouble finding the accommodation, Eirlys came to the rescue and there was no looking back. The barn, which has been converted into accommodation, is spacious and very well appointed. Apart from food and personal affects, everything that we needed was supplied. We particularly enjoyed the farm fresh eggs, milk and cake that was waiting for us when we arrived. The farm, Y-Cartws, is in a central location in the south. It was easy to visit the highlights of the Pembrokshire region. Eirlys gave us some good recommendations and a walking guide book that helped us to decide on our daily adventures. Another highlight was a little tour of the farm that enabled my nearly one year old son to see sheep and chickens for the first time. For those wishing to stay here, the easiest way to find it is to type "Y Cartws holiday cottage" into Google Maps, and it will direct you to the exact location. We have just spent six days in Y Cartws..a wonderful property with everything we needed for a comfortable base for our family. A warm welcome was extended by Eirlys Williams on our arrival to this immaculate cottage from which there are beautiful views of the surrounding farm. We spent lovely days exploring the lovely coastline and Castles and comfortable evenings in the cottage. We will certainly be booking again.

We had a lovely stay. The accommodation was clean and spacious and we were made to feel very welcome. The owners were friendly and it was lovely to see sheep being herded on a working farm and some puppies! We didn't want to leave.

What can I say other than fantastic. The property is located within a rural setting surrounded by fields. There is very easy access to Tenby and other tourist and necessary amenities. The layout of the cottage is very functional and is extremely easy to see that it is clean and easy to keep clean. The hosts are extremely pleasant and accommodating and were more than willing to facilitate our sons (2 years old) desire to sit in a tractor whenever he wanted. I would highly recommend this property as a base to explore Pembrokeshire. Many thanks.

We had a lovely time. The cottage had everything we needed. There was attention to small details; washing up liquid, dish cloth and tea towels provided. Laundry room was very useful. Hosts were very friendly and helpful - there if you needed them but let you get on with the holiday. Pembrokeshire is so beautiful I defy anyone not to enjoy it, especially with the wonderful weather we had.

We had a very nice stay at the cottage surrounded by a lot of sheeps. It was idyllic. We stayed for 13 days. We had a lot of quietness and got relaxed very well. The three dogs of the farm were the favorite of our three children. The owner live at the cottage too and they are very helpful, friendly, cooperative and we got the chance to get an inside look into the work of a sheepfarmer. It was great! Thanks Eirelys and Paul, we often think back to the good time we had at your cottage!! The owner provide a very good customer service, the holiday flat is clean, well-maintained and got games for Kids, DVDs and some books (used on rainy days!). We made a lot of day trips to the castles around, to points of interest, to the seaside. It was a great vacation for us!! Thank you!! We like to come back!!

We used the accommodation as a base to explore the area of Pembrokeshire from shopping in Carmarthen to the beaches in Tenby and St Davids Whitesands. The accommodation was good with a nice big kitchen area and lounge. Upstairs were two decent size bedrooms and a landing area with a comfy lounger to sit and read or just look at the stars through the velux window. The owners were friendly and we would definitely stay again if in the area. Emma

Y Cartws is a spaceous self catering cottage on a sheep farm. Although sheeps are clearly present in the adjacent meadows, the cottage is very quiet, light and cool during our week summer stay. The two dogs are friendly and even cheerful each time when we arrived after a day's walk in the Welsh country. definitely child friendly, spaceous (4 people fit in easily), modern and fully equipped kitchen, with TV, DVD player, etc. Ther is very little to improve on, we felt very welcome, and enjoyed staying here. Definitely a recommended place for staying some time, and suitable for all ages.

Das Haus ist gut ausgestattet, bietet großzügig Platz auch für uns fünf. Wir wurden sehr herzlich von Eirlys und Paul empfangen und auch während unseres Aufenthalts kümmerten sie sich jederzeit darum, dass wir alles hatten, was wir brauchten. Wir hatten auch besonders viel Spaß an und mit den Hofhunden. Insgesamt eine sehr schöne Unterkunft mit tollen Gastgebern, die wir jederzeit weiter empfehlen können.
