Elizabeth has created an amazingly peaceful and charming getaway amongst the hills with views to die for.
The very long unsealed road to the property is at times very narrow but manageable.

Absolutely beautiful little corner of the world, me and my boyfriend loved this place. Elizabeth was so friendly and so we're the chickens. Felt very private, we're able to cook and relax whilst also being a good distance from Paihia and Russell for our day trips. Definitely recommend - 5 stars

Stayed for 2 nights and had a wonderful time. The location is very secluded and peaceful and the view is just amazing. The room/ sleep out in itself was wonderful too - very cozy and well equipped.

It is a rustic farmhouse style, with chickens at your door LOL. The view was absolutely amazing!! FreeView TV and Wifi was consistent and strong. While kitchenette is small, self contained and private, there is access to a full kitchen cabin and extra double room available.. Main room was more than large enough for two people. Comfy bed and plenty of power points. Plenty of sunlight and parking at door. Did I mention the view? There are walking trails around, but next time I plan on sitting on the deck, glass in hand with a good book or movie!! Elizabeth is friendly, approachable and a great host.
Most of the road to Waikare Valley is shingle and single lane in parts so be careful, but I would definitely return.
The bathroom floor / toilet may need reinforcing in next few years.. need another handle when stepping out of shower as it’s quite a drop for old knees. Need to book longer stay.

Lovely host, great view, self contained kitchen in a quaint cookhouse. Loved the chooks and the view as the sunset.
Just make sure you bring your food.

Spacious cabin at a lovely location somewhat off the beaten track offering beautiful views of the bay. Elizabeth was a very helpful and accommodating host. The place has everything you might need and was easy enough to find.

Elizabeth’s place is like New Zealand paradise - from the moment when we entered through the gate - we loved everything maximally!
No complaints at all..

Peaceful, quiet & quirky but very comfortable accommodation with splendid views over Waikare inlet. Friendly & generous host. Very well equipped.
Small size of spaces might not suit everyone especially for longer stays. Separate cooking/dining cabin - though only a few steps away - might not have been so much fun in poor weather.

The surroundings are tranquil. The view looking down to the inlets is inspiring. Great star gazing at night. We woke up to the birdsongs and had a peaceful breakfast while birdwatching on the patio. The separate “cookhouse” has a lot of charm. If it has been a rainy day, I would have a coffee and read a book here. Elizabeth is very thoughtful and caring. She provides adequate and quality items in the guest house. We completely enjoyed our stay and will not be hesitant to come back again.
Nothing. The unpaved road might be a concern for some but our midsize rental car drove fine on that road in and out. If you don’t mind this, you will be rewarded with this amazing space.

This is our second time staying here. Elizabeth is a wonder host, the space has everything you need. An amazing view, peace and tranquility, Netflix, a comfy bed, a coffee machine and a home cooked hearty breaky with all the sides. It's an absolutely wonderful space to get out of the hustle and bustle of busy life and relax. No doubt we will be back again.
We loved everything ❤️

It was by far the best accommodation I've stayed in northland. Awesome Bach, peaceful, quiet, private and safe. Amazing view and awesome walking around the property. Elizabeth is an amazing human being with great cooking skills. Now that I'm back, my boyfriend went out to buy a marmalade that could be similar to the one Elizabeth makes, but obviously things like that you can not buy. Highly recommend, would definitely return.
All the best to Elizabeth you rock!

Had a wonderful stay at this beautiful and very welcoming bach/accomodation. Even though it is "off the beaten track" it is well worth the drive. Elizabeth is an excellent host and I will very happily return on my next trip to the Bay of Islands area.

If you are looking for a quiet private get away this is the place for you! It’s along a gravel track so as long as you don’t mind that while driving through beautiful scenery then definitely stay here. Beautiful views and even when it rained we could still sit outside and enjoy the peace. Breakfast was beautiful and everything homemade.
There was nothing we didn’t like, honestly. The only thing to be aware of is the gravel road to get there.

The location is stunning : high up in the wetlands, the view is exceptional - you won't want to leave!
The bauch itself is very cosy and well-equipped. There is a little kitchenette to cook your own meals (useful as the place is quite remote).
The host, Elisabeth, is very welcoming, kind, and cooks some delicious breakfasts.
Everything was perfect !

Excellent batch on a peaceful block. Stunning views and the cooked breakfast was a highlight. Elizabeth has thought of all the small things to make a stay more enjoyable
i loved all this accom had to offer. My only suggestion would be to add another sign near the road side as there’s limited reception for maps :)

Location was great with a fantastic view over the Waikare Inlet and hills beyond.
The 10 acre lifestyle block was interesting to walk around, through bush down to the mangroves in the inlet.
The unsealed road (5kms north towards Russell or 10kms south toward Kawakawa) was quite ok if travelled slowly and carefully.
The cooked breakfasts were scrumptious and caringly presented.
Elizabeth is a fantastic host.
We will stay again.

The photos don't do this cute place justice. The views are amazing, the cottage is super cozy and the host fantastic! Also the breakfast - I think everything on the plate was home grown/made... amazing!!!
I loved it and would definitely stay again. The metal road on the way is was a surprise but i managed it fine in my little car!

The setting, the views, the solitude, my daily, sometimes hourly, rainbow visits, the friendly chicken, the sweet walk in the bush down to the water, Elizabeth’s kindness and attention to detail and the nurturing comfort of the cottage all made this stay exemplary.
Nothing.

周边环境优美,房子虽然不算很大,但设备是所有住过的房子中最齐全的。接待我们的是一位优雅的女士,沟通很顺畅。
The surrounding environment is beautiful, and although the house is not very big, the facilities are the most complete among all the houses that have been lived in. We were received by an elegant lady who communicated smoothly.

Taranaki ist ein wunderbarer Platz um sich zu erholen. Die Ruhe, die Aussicht und die tägliche Versorgung mit frisch vom herumlaufenden Federvieh gelegten Eiern ist traumhaft.
