Angelica House

The apartment is on the 6th floor of housing block comprising several buildings. The block in which the apartment is has an attendant at the front office so it felt very safe / secure. There’s a lift so no problem with access / moving suitcases. Angela met us there. She communicated readily and was extremely helpful - lots of tips, offers to come and do extra cleaning (as we were there for a week), left as much bottled water as we wanted, cooking condiments (oil, tea, biscuits, etc), let us access earlier (straight from train), ordered a taxi for us, so all fabulous. Beds comfy, linen clean, and washing machine great to have. Metro directly outside.

No significant issues. It’s an older apartment with well used contents but a great experience for us (feeling that we lived for a week in an authentic setting). That comes we some noise (neighbours, etc) but nothing u expected. We did have a bit of an issue leaving early for the train in that we needed to leave the keys inside the apartment but also needed them to get out the front locked gates… as there were two of us one stayed at the gate with the luggage to keep it ajar while the other returned to the apartment to leave the keys inside and come back down. No great drama but could’ve been problematic to find yourself looked in and the taxi on the other side of the gate (that said someone would open the gate at some point).

Supermarket downstairs, next to metro, and many places for food nearby.

We enjoyed our stay at Angelica House very much. Angela the host was exceptional. She was very available and friendly beforehand, met us to give us the keys and instructions and added useful recommendations and answered our questions, and when the toaster didn't function she was very quick to replace it. The apartment itself is very spacious (the kitchen is small but the rooms are very big and the bathroom is comfortable), quiet and beautifully located. The building complex is immediately above the Metro station and it was very easy to get everywhere. There are supermarkets and a lovely pizzeria in a short walking distance. The apartment was clean and well equiped, we didn't cook so I didn't check that, but for eveything else we had what we needed and it was nice that there was alreay jam and oil and stuff like that. It is obvious that the host made a point of being generous and I appreciate this attitude very much. There's a nice small balcony where we enjoyed the sun. Overall is was a wonderful experience and I was very happy with staying there.

The apartment is a bit old. The beds were ok but by the last day I had a bit of a backache because the matress is on the soft side. The furniture and kitchen are a bit dilapidated. The air in the apartment was a bit stale (it's clean, just a bit old)

The Apartment was within walking distance of many of the major attractions, shopping areas and very close to a metro station. It made getting around Milan very easy and convenient. The apartment is located within what could be described as a migrant area of Milan and has many migrants of very many nationalities. For the first couple of days of our stay, consistently hearing languages other than Italian in cafes and the like caused some cogitative disconnect "am I really in Italy" type moments. After several days of observing the 'actors" on the streets and cafes, I became fascinated watching the interaction between the migrants and the Italians. The cultures seemed to blend seamlessly, each maintaining their own cultural identity whilst adopting and respecting elements of the others culture. Observing the interaction of cultures became for me as big of a highlight as all of the historical, cultural centres I visited.

There was nothing of note which I could say I disliked.
