Home Boutique Santa Maria Novella was a pleasant surprise. The pictures and description do not do the place justice. Based on the listing, I expected something much more modest, but our experience was excellent. The property is small and cozy, so it is important to set expectations accordingly, but it was very comfortable and welcoming. Upon our arrival, Tony took the time to show us a map of Florence and recommend places to visit, which we really appreciated. The common areas were inviting, and having 24-hour access to snacks was a thoughtful touch that my family enjoyed. The availability of luggage storage before check-in and after check-out was also a big plus and made our visit much easier. Our room was spacious, clean, and well maintained. The staff members were all very friendly, respectful, and welcoming throughout our stay. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would definitely recommend Home Boutique Santa Maria Novella to anyone visiting Florence.

We stayed here from May 31 to June 2 and had a great time! The location is amazing—so close to Firenze Santa Maria Novella station. It’s an easy walk, and you can pretty much start exploring Florence right from the street outside. You use a code to enter the property. There’s no elevator, but they have a really nice shared area with everything you need: a fridge, washing machine, dishes, utensils, and a TV. They even offer free coffee and milk all day! The room itself wasn't too small; we could easily open our 28-inch suitcase. The bed was comfy, the place was clean, and the hot water worked great. Just keep in mind you'll need a physical key to lock and unlock your room The staff were lovely—super friendly, helpful, and always said hello. Before we arrived, they messaged us on WhatsApp to give us the codes and key info since we were checking in late. This is also how you reach them if they aren't at the desk

If you're an international traveler (like from Asia) who doesn't use WhatsApp often, communication might be a bit tricky. If you're checking in late, you must message them beforehand, or you won't be able to get in since no staff will be on-site to help

Clean, great location near the train station and close to local attractions. They allowed us to leave our belongings for a couple of hours after check-out.

It was noisy at night — someone was constantly walking around starting from 5 AM. The room had a small window that faced the stairwell. And unfortunately, despite all attempts to connect to the Wi-Fi, it never worked (the issue wasn't the password — it simply kept dropping and showing various connection errors), and there was no signal in the room at all.
