Perfect base for exploring Avignon

Our accommodation in Avignon was the perfect choice! It's located in a quiet neighborhood, but the city center is easily accessible either by bus or a pleasant walk with a wonderful view. The owner is an incredibly kind and accommodating person who willingly showed us and explained everything. The room was spacious, clean, and had a unique, charming atmosphere with a very comfortable bed. We enjoyed (very generous) sweet breakfast on a cozy terrace full of plants and with the sound of water, which was simply fantastic. We especially appreciate that the owner prepared a breakfast basket for our early departure, and even included a kind personal note. We truly felt at home here. We highly recommend it!

The town is nice but there are surely much better hosts to stay with.

Nice Provençal house in a central location. Very spacious room and cute cats all over the breakfast terrace. Our room had an air conditioner and a fridge with courtesy drinks.

Linen and towels had a strong perfume scent that according to the owner comes from their washing method. We had to air the room for a while to let the scent fade out a bit. People allergic or sensitive to scents be warned. Gerard, the owner, has also a interesting professional past (as you will learn from the article he proudly hangs on the toilet’ wall) and this probably reflects in the choice of male and female seminude art displayed in the stairwell and in the room. Regardless of the above, our experience was being ok overall but ruined at the end by discovering that he was charging us more than the fixed tourism tax set by the town for the Chambre d’Hotes category. Showing him the official tax chart downloaded from the town council’s website did not dissuade him to ask his own amount and we had to pay. A real pity that the whole experience had to be spoiled for a pittance. We also had to endure being made fun of by Gerard through private messaging instead of him listening to our feedback. We had a nice time in the town but we’ll never come back to his place nor recommend it to anybody else.

Absolutely recommend

Gerard was an excellent and attentive host. The room was spacious, comfortable and inviting. Breakfast was generous. The location is excellent, in the lovely village of Villeneuve-Lez-Avignon, with great restaurants, cute shops and very friendly locals. Avignon city reachable by a frequent bus or a pleasant 30 minute walk. Really nice stay.

Es war eine sehr interessante Unterkunft..

Das Frühstück im Garten war Spitze...Die Klimaanlage im Zimmer hat uns gerettet...Der kleine Kühlschrank war auch sehr hilfreich...Der Pool na ja, der könnte etwas mehr Pflege gebrauchen... Ansonsten war ein schöner Aufenthalt
