Mermaid Inn

It was a comfortable and nice stay

The Mermaid Inn Mirissa is tucked away from the main street yet only 10 minute walk to shops, restaurants and the beach. The rooms are spacious with huge beds and spotless clean white bedding which is changed along with the towels every couple of days. The rooms however are cleaned daily. There is a small fridge in every room and a kettle. Small amounts of teabags and coffee are provided. The rooms are air conditioned along with a ceiling fan. The bathrooms are quite large and also very clean. We had piping hot water throughout the day. On the shared balconies each room has a small table with 2 chairs. A clothes drying rack is also available for each room. Downstairs behind reception is a washing machine for guests to use, you just supply your own detergent. This was a boon after travelling for 2 weeks prior to our Mirissa stay. Dayani and Dambulla who own the hotel are friendly and gracious hosts. Upauli who works for them is friendly and despite his limited English and our more limited Sri we managed ok. He works tirelessly from 6am in the morning tending to the lovely gardens and grounds before moving on to cleaning the bedrooms. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, it's a gem of a hotel for a very good price Would definitely return.

Great location, 10 minute walk into town and beaches. Room was very clean and area was quiet. Outside area was lovely and relaxing. Would stay here again.

Very clean, well maintained room and bathroom Nice, quiet area with lots of amazing restaurants and cafes nearby, yet close to the beach (~10 min)
