Holiday Home Drmate Milicica Vi

This home was right in the heart of Hvar old town, only about a 5 minute walk from the port where we got off the ferry. The alley it is located on has many excellent restaurants and rooftop bars, as well as an underground nightclub. We weren’t affected too much by any noise from these places. It was incredibly spacious with 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, a kitchen, living area, and large balcony. We had absolutely everything we needed including a stack of spare beach towels. The beds were so comfortable, and big enough to suit 6 friends. Each room also had air conditioning which was vitally needed in June weather! The showers and taps had excellent water pressure also, with hot water available very quickly. We got two keys for the apartment which was very handy. The host was very easy to reach over WhatsApp and very quick to reply, being extremely helpful and gracious to us. I couldn’t recommend this place enough!

It didn’t bother us too much but it something to consider when booking, it required a walk up a lot of steps to reach the door, and then the home is spread out across 2 floors. A lot of steep stairs are involved, however, that is the case for most of Hvar.

Great location, super central. Each room has a bathroom.

Needs maintenance: only the top shelf in the freezer freezes, the fridge on the first floor doesnt work, the fridge door on the top floor is broken, the shower handle in the one bathroom is broken. Coffee machine is broken. The photos on the site are from couple of years back it seems as the furniture doesnt match (e.g. double bed in the room that shows 2 single beds, different dining room setup) Bad communication: Arrived at the house at the agreed time and there was no one. After phoning they said they didnt have our booking, then found our booking and said they forgot so the place isnt ready, we then had to wait another hour before we could check in. I messaged to ask about wifi and received a reply a day later from booking.com that says to contact the person who handed over the key. There was a half finished bottle of cold drink in the fridge which gives the sense the place isnt properly cleaned

The host is unbelievably rude. Yelled at us for not calling her, even though we had called and messaged several times and showed her that we had. The stairs were an issue for our parents in their 70s. However, the worst thing and reason we will not stay here again is it is SO loud at night. We have travelled the world and can deal with pretty much anything but the constant music and loud partying went until 5am every single night. We could hear every conversation being had, even with the windows, doors, curtains shut and ear plugs.

Not possible to contact host before trip - no response to messages through booking.com / phone call / texts / emails. Had to get help through booking.com team. Turns out the apartment is advertised through another company and they have a separate website. Ended up having a hot and fractious afternoon with kids calling booking.con to try to find out how to get into the apartment. Decor tired and IKEA based, but otherwise a comfortable spacious apartment in a great location.
