Large comfortable Japanese Room, beautiful view, great onsen, delicious varied breakfast. Not far to lifts

Can be slippery getting to and from hotel in winter

Loved the location, a short, great warm‑up walk to the ski lift and slopes. The room was simple and spacious, with a traditional Japanese tatami feel that added to the overall cozy atmosphere. (Tatami could be softer as personal preference) Dipping in the outdoor onsen after a long day on the slopes is such a relaxing way to end the day, the hot spring waters were very soothing. Though the hotel was a little dated, the view and location made up for it, especially to see the quiet mountain scenery around Akakura. The staff were also very kind and willing to go the extra mile to help when asked.

The bathroom, as the water wouldn’t drain properly and would pool up on the floor. Even after informing the hotel, the issue wasn’t fixed throughout my stay, so I ended up using the onsen bath area daily instead. The Onsen: The wash/bath area of the onsen itself felt unclean: the floor was slimy and covered in dark‑green mold, making it slippery and unpleasant to walk on. The space also had a strong, unpleasant odor, which was disappointing, especially since the bath area is closed for cleaning for certain hours every day. I hope the hotel will thoroughly clean and fix the mold and slime on the onsen wash area floor so that future guests can enjoy the onsen in a hygienic and relaxing environment.
