The historical building is beautiful. The four Onsen hot spring baths are each unique- the Onsen water seems to be on the acidic side and a bit hotter than average and they were comfortable and soothing. The dinner was fantastic! The variety and tastes were impressive. The breakfast was also great. I hope to stay here again someday.

Beautiful property but at the time we went, it was under some renovation.
The food was not as great as the last time. The rooms was also very warm even though we turned the air-conditioning up

Well thought out food menu that was very authentic and delicious. Kudos to the chef and those serving.
A special mention to the concierge who helped us with the very heavy luggage.
This is no your stay where you can just drive up to and drop your luggage. Parking is a 5 mins walk in the snow, steep stairs and uphill. The ryokan seems determined to only provide one staff to help with my four luggage.
This private Onsen is not available we were told that the wind blew off the window and is under repair.
While the ryokan pride itself with a long history, the floors creak, no master switches, steps even in the room, bathtub is raised so high you need to step up…
