Lisbon Core Apartments Bairro Alto

During the heatwave we loved the air conditioning. The bed was very comfortable. The property was comfortable and clean and in a great location.

On arrival we received a message that the three flights of narrow, steep and irregular stairs were unsuitable for disabled people or people with impaired mobility. This warning should have been explicit prior to booking. The owners knew before our arrival that the washing machine was not working. Over the course of a couple of conversations we pieced together that it had been broken for some time, long before we rented the property. When we first raised concerns about the broken washing machine, we were told to use a spoon handle to manipulate the machine door open. We explained that the door could be opened and closed but that the water did not come on and the machine did not operate. We were given the run-around for a couple of days and made to feel like fools. Once we finally convinced management that the machine was not working, we did receive an apology and an offer to reimburse us if we used the laundrette a few doors down. Our point though is that they advertised the property including a washing machine in the full knowledge that it did not work. Indeed, the concierge told us they had no intention of fixing it. We had a similar issue with the television. We have never operated a television through HDMI and were unable to get it working without assistance. Again we were made to feel like fools. I did suggest that a sheet of instructions for future visitors would be a good idea. In brief, our interactions with the property managers were not positive.

The flat was in the perfect location in a beautiful and atmospheric part of Lisbon. It was a perfect size for the two of us with everything we needed. The air conditioning was very welcome and all the facilities were brilliant.

Loved the apartment. It was clean and cozy . Easy check in and out. Great communication with apartment management. Good location, close to everything we needed. Would stay again .

Got a little loud on the weekend nights till very late but shut windows and was good.

Not advertised honestly. The steps were very dangerous. I am woman with size 8 shoes, my feet were bigger than the steps. We were on rhe second floor which had a flight of steps and small landing and then another flight of stairs. There was no lights on the stairways. Once you reached the stair landing the sensor lights would turn on by then you could of fallen down the stairs. There was lack of communication would of appreciated a phone call to ask if there was anything they could help with. The front door There was no room to bring luggage and close door at same time. Shower was really small. I think those issues should be mentioned. I got the feeling that all they were interested was making the money.
