The room is spacious and beautiful, the bed is very comfortable. Room cleaning service is truly outstanding. The room is on the third floor so one could not hear the crowds from the bar restaurant downstairs. Location is central and convenient. The bar restaurant staff members - specially the ladies - are professional and convivial. Breakfast - at a cost of 8.90 Euros - is excellent and plentiful. The room is good value at 66 Euros per night.
Hotel L'Avenue is not a hotel, it is a popular bar restaurant that rents 10 rooms distributed on three floors upstairs, it is what in past times was called an inn. It hasn't got any common areas for the guests to wait and sit, there is not a reception desk and you have to go through the whole bar restaurant to go upstairs to your room. That's the reason why check in starts after lunchtime and ends before the peak of dinnertime, so that diners are not disturbed by arriving guests. I am really starting to get tired of that after-Covid plague of places that just offer rooms and call themselves hotels.
There is not a lift to go upstairs and room 8 is on the last floor. I am 64 years old and I am very fit but it was extremely hard to carry my two pieces of luggage upstairs, specially the big suitcase that weighs 20 kilos. And obviously no help was offered by the staff at the bar restaurant because they were busy doing other things related to a bar restaurant and not to a hotel.

Breakfast was very good and good value. The bar and restaurant are busy and feel very comfortable. Beds are comfortable but the cleanliness of the room was wanting and the bathroom didn’t have a functioning shower door.
