Occidental Punta Cana - All Inclusive

We had an unforgettable stay here! The hotel is big and clean. Food was really tasty and various. À la cart restaurants were atmospheric and the food was delicious as well. Staff was nice and super friendly. Animation team did their best to entertain guests. Lots of bars and snack bars worked all night long so there’s no way you could be hungry. The beach was great and water was really warm. We are really happy to choose Occidental Punta Cana!!!

We had one problem in the bathroom during our stay but the staff was really helpful and quick so our problem was solved. We’re grateful for that as well.

The hotel is kept clean and looks like the photos, the rooms are spacious and comfy.

The buffet and snack bars were good but the food quality in a lot of the restaurants wasn’t great. Most of the food was lukewarm, and some of the portion sizes were small. It was still ok, but needs improvement. Also on checking out, for the whole stay we were asking about late checkout. The front desk kept telling us come as early as possible on your day of check out to ask about late checkout out, and they would tell us the availability. We even went the night before and it was still the same answer. So we thought, fair enough, and got up at 8am to go to the front desk, I was the first person there when it opened and yet they said late checkout out wasn’t possible. I managed to get an extra hour after asking again, but we had to wait around for hours as our taxi was booked for later. I think for planning purposes like booking a taxi this needs to be looked at. Why couldn’t they have told us the night before so we had more time to prepare?

The pool was the best! Great tropical vacation spot.

The location was fantastic. 30 minutes from punta Cana airport and right on the beach. The entertainment team were spectacular. We enjoyed the daily activities like painting by the beach, karaoke, water aerobics, bingo and the nightly shows.

The food was simply ok. The have 2 buffets and I believe 7 reservation required restaurants. We ate at 3 of them and the best was the Mexican food restaurant. The buffet food was simply ok. The rooms and the hotel within its self looks old and a little run down. Apparently we were supposed to have a personal concierge to help us throughout our stay and they never told us that. The concierge reached out on the last day. Also the house keeping team would knock once and wouldn’t wait for an answer before swinging the door open. They opened the door while someone was in the bathroom numerous times. My daughter cut herself while in one of the pools on the first day due to there being a broken light in the pool and they did absolutely nothing except for offer us a bandaid (it was a deep cut). They claimed they didn’t have medical on site. In the end we wouldn’t return to this resort.
