Kamares Sanctuaries

Kamares Sanctuaries is such a beautiful and peaceful place. From the moment we arrived, we felt completely relaxed. The property is full of character, beautifully maintained and surrounded by stunning views. It feels private and calm, which made it the perfect place to switch off and enjoy Crete. room was lovely, clean and comfortable, with everything we needed. The air conditioning was especially appreciated during the hot Greek summer. Coming back to a cool room after a full day exploring was perfect. The whole property has been designed with so much attention to detail. We also really loved the honesty bar and all the little touches that make you feel at home. Emilio and his mother were incredibly welcoming, warm and helpful throughout our stay. You can really feel how much care they put into the place and into making their guests feel comfortable.

Le cadre et l’emplacement au milieu de nulle part, loin de l’agitation des villes et des côtes. Endroit propre et calme, et aménagement fait avec goût et climatisé. L'espace commun du patio, confortable et offrant une vue agréable, et le garde-manger, pour se procurer du café, des glaçons et un coin cuisine lumineux et très bien équipé.

Pas de stationnement proche de l'hôtel. La côte est un peu raide pour revenir du village à pieds sous des fortes chaleurs.

- persönlicher Empfang mit vielen Tipps - specifischer 'digital guide' mit google maps - ruhig (leichtes Rauschen von der etwa 1km entfernten Schnellstrasse) - modern designetes Zimmer - tolle Dusche mit Regendusche! - Balkon - Nähe zu sehr schönem und interessanten Monastery mit eindrücklichem Museum - 20' Fahrt-Nähe durch traumhafte Olivenlandschaft zur wunderschönen Ravdoucha beach und Wave Rock taverna! (obschon ich die Empfehlung des gegrillten Octopus nicht teilen kann, er war sehr hart).

- das Glas Wasser zur Begrüssung fand ich nett und gleichzeitig ein wenig mager als 'welcome drink' - kein Meerblick!!! (gemäss Ausschreibung sollte das Zimmer 'teilweise Meersicht' haben, das war ein Grund für meine Buchung. Diese verdeckt aber ein grosser Maulbeerbaum vollständig. Emilio's Hinweis, er werde im Winter geschnitten, half auch nicht) - das 'Apartment' war ein Zimmer mit separatem Eingang, nettem Balkon, jedoch nur über eine steile Treppe (dunkel, weil das Licht nicht funktionierte!) erreichbar. netterweise brachte Emilio meinen Koffer hoch. bei meiner Abreise war er leider abwesend... - meine Bettwäsche wurde in den 5 Nächten nie ausgewechselt (gem digital guide alle 3-4 Tage...) 1x hätte ich schon erwartet für den Preis von 90 EUR/Nacht! - gem Ausschreibung 200m vom Dorfzentrum (welches? Supermarkt? Ich habe kein Zentrum ausmachen können). effektiv relevant ist für den Urlauber wohl die Distanz zum Zentrum wo alle Tavernen, Läden und auch der Strand sind. Dort, wo sich etwas Leben in diesem ansonsten wie ausgestorbenen Ort abspielt. Gem. Ausschreibung 700m zur Beach; das ist jedoch Luftlinie gemessen! zu Fuss sind's dann schon etwa 800-900m zum sozialen Zentrum, also etwa 25-20' Fussmarsch, nachts zurück durch den ziemlich dunklen und nicht sehr attraktiven (viele Häuser sind Baustellen) Ort fand ich als allein reisende Frau ungemütlich. - die Unterkunft ist zudem ein Neubau, ich hatte aufgrund der Beschreibung 'it's a Sanctuary' und Fotos ein historisches Gebäude erwartet. - zu hoher Preis für abgelegene Lage, ohne Frühstück (zusätzlich für 20eur), ohne Zimmerservice! (für den exakt gleichen Preis habe ich anschliessend in der erstaunlich ruhigen old town von Rethymno in einem zauberhaften historischen Mansion inkl Frühstücksbuffet inkl Zimmerservice in einem sehr luxuriösen Zimmer logiert).
