Amazing find in La Hougue. Our stay was perfect.

Such a beautiful hotel in the center of La Hougue. It was perfect in every way. We were upgraded to a suite, which we greatly appreciated. On entering the room the first thing that struck us was the cleanliness. It was pristine. Then the room itself was stunning. Everything about it - the classic french decor, the large space, the bathroom - all perfect. The staff were excellent and took care of our every need. There is no dedicated parking, but there is ample on-street parking. Even if you don't get a spot right outside the door, there is plenty of parking just around the corner by the cathedral.

Would have preferred a room that wasn't up two flights of stairs. If we had known when booking we would have opted to not be in that room but on the ground floor or first floor.

Beautiful hotel, in excellent decorative order. Very stylish. Excellent room - classic decor but with the necessary modern touches.

It was advertised as having a bar. However, there was no sign of this and the residents lounge was locked by the time we got back to the hotel after our meal out - approx 8.30pm. It would have been nice to have had a relaxing nightcap in the lounge, as we had expected.

There is a bit of a musty Smell in the lobby area, and up the stairs, maybe coming from the carpet. This smell is not present in the bedroom or bathroom. You can open the windows and get fresh air which is really nice.

Hotel decor very tired. Restaurant closed. Very steep staircase, could not carry one of our cases up narrow stairs. Not suitable elderly.. Desk manned 4-8 pm only. Keycode for entry but no phone number in case of failure.Parking on street difficult. Shame as we used to be very fond of this hotel.

Pleasant stay in a pleasant port town

Good location for the town and port area. Good breakfast, good quality foods and plenty to choose from Pretty garden area - the fuscias were in bloom during our visit. Comfortable bed. Decent shower and clean bathroom Tea and coffee making facilities. Helpful staff who were willing to talk English, which was appreciated.

The room was rather cramped and rather noisy at times as it was at the front of the hotel.

Room excellent (at a price) and staff pleasant but limited food a major disappointment We have visited this hotel over the last 30 years and in the day it had an excellent restaurant Now reduced to one set meal due to lack of staff A great shame

Disappointing.

I suspect the hotel is having difficulty in finding staff. The dinner was very disappointing where as in previous years the food was excellent and the service is not as good as it used to be. Also with the pound being so low against the euro it's not value for money. Sad because I have visited the hotel many times in the past and been very happy.

no lift and we were on 2nd floor i have serious mobility issues, so climbing stairs is very difficult. The the hotel should make it clear that they have no lift and arrange to keep the three ground floor rooms reserved for guests with mobility issues.
