We were in Sion to visit family, and for this purpose as well as to visit in the region, the hotel was perfectly located. The hotel rooms had a good size and the staff (all categories) were helpful and kind.
That there is not 24/7 reception.

It was good value for money for Switzerland. We ended up taking a family room and it was spacious. The hotel restaurant is expensive but very good. Parking and good location. Wifi was good.
The building is old, and the lift can hardly fit in a person with the suitcases. We arrived very tired after a long drive from Italy and there was no staff available and we had to wait.

It was fine. Simple, relatively clean room.
The whole check in process made very little sense. The front desk closes at 8pm which is quite unrealistic. It is not unheard of that hotels close front desks, but from my experience, that is usually sometime between 10pm and 12am. The city does not have a major airport, so people are either driving here or taking the train. Closing the front desk at 8pm does not reflect the kinds of tourists that are coming and travel times. I had to check in via the system outside, and it was prompting me to pay the nightly rate even though I had already paid on booking.com. I had to make a phone call in order to check in.
