The room was simple, and the staff were friendly problems aside.

It was fine. Simple, relatively clean room.

The whole check in process made very little sense. The front desk closes at 8pm which is quite unrealistic. It is not unheard of that hotels close front desks, but from my experience, that is usually sometime between 10pm and 12am. The city does not have a major airport, so people are either driving here or taking the train. Closing the front desk at 8pm does not reflect the kinds of tourists that are coming and travel times. I had to check in via the system outside, and it was prompting me to pay the nightly rate even though I had already paid on booking.com. I had to make a phone call in order to check in.

Large comfortable rooms

It was good value for money for Switzerland. We ended up taking a family room and it was spacious. The hotel restaurant is expensive but very good. Parking and good location. Wifi was good.

The building is old, and the lift can hardly fit in a person with the suitcases. We arrived very tired after a long drive from Italy and there was no staff available and we had to wait.

Excellent value for money

Very clean and spacious room, with a coffee machine and a small fridge. Excellent view on the castle from the window . Friendly and helpful staff. Close to the city centre and to the local hospital (I was visiting someone at Sion Hospital).

Not very inspiring, noisy road, too hot in summer

The view from the balcony was good if you saw past the ugly building opposite and the road noise. The restaurant downstairs was spacious and had plenty of ventilation. Other than that, out of 24 hotels stayed in so far, this would be the worst.

We arrived on a 37 degree day. The room was hot. There is no air conditioning. Opening the door to the balcony made it hotter. Overnight for two nights it was 30 degrees at 8pm. Unbearable. The room was small although it was. Superior Double. Smallest room so far on our trip. We are Australians and used to the heat but we also are used to air conditioning and good practices to keep a place cool. The beds were soft and the first time in 2 months of travel that we woke with sore backs. As usual, heavy quilt on each bed. We couldn’t open the door to try and sleep until very late as the road noise was too much. The breakfast was very thin on the ground and not good either. It they did make a good coffee with the standard machine. The staff seemed more interested in talking to each other than service. Overall, not a pleasant experience. There was a mini fridge and a wall mounted screen not much bigger than my computer.

Great location for short stays

It is about 15 minutes away from the central station by walk, and the castles and old town are very close. Room was comfy, ideal for short stay and city sightseeing.

Need a bit of refurbishment for the rooms.

More than adequate

The hotel is conveniently located, with a view of the rock face. It was clean and convenient and I would recommend it for short stays in the region.

There was no mention on the website that parking had to be paid extra; only found this out when confirming that we wanted parking. Whether Parking is free/included or not should be explicitly stated.

Pleasant

We liked the size of the room. And the receptionist was quite nice. And we also liked the coffee in our room.

The room could have been tidier. We opened the windows because it was too hot during the night, but the room is right next to the road and so there was a lot of noise... And then it was impossible to stay asleep in the morning because of the light, the curtains were not effective at all. The pillows are not comfortable at all, it felt like sleeping on a rock basically.

Nice and comfortable room with a beautiful view

The staffs are very friendly and helpful. I needed to drop my luggage off much earlier than the check-in time and they help me with it. I also get a view of the Basilique de Valère from my room.

I would gladly stay here again, but I would ask for a quiet room.

Great location, 5 minutes walk to the old town and free parking. Staff were excellent. Room and bed comfotable, would happily stay here again. We didn't eat here, appeared a bit pricey and so many restaurants 5 minutes away.

Could hear the people and children next door talking, so rooms were not that quiet, I would request a quiet room.

No problem for a short stay. Decent location but the town is small so anything is good. 15 min walk to train station. Easy to get up to the castle and enjoy the sunset. Would stay again for a quick visit.
