Expensive stay for a a very basic hotel experience.

Central location with helpful staff

This hotel was really expensive for what it was. Very old and dated and photos do not reflect the experience. Cleanliness of hallways and corridors was poor .

Fabulous

I booked this hotel as I was attending a wedding in the area. When booking I was looking for something that was affordable comfortable and close to the venue I was attending. It was my first time in Ireland and the staff were welcoming and helpful. The hotel is really well situated, close by to amenities. I had booked a single room which had a small double bed which was very comfortable, the bathroom was immaculate and the room had wardrobe space, ironing facility, a hairdryer and tea/coffee facility. I didn’t use the bar or gym facilities so cannot comment on that.

I have nothing bad to say about the hotel at all. However, if I had to be critical, I’d say the breakfast could have had a bigger selection. The fried breakfast was delicious though!

Room was comfortable, nice big bed and nice large shower. Staff were lovely.

Room overlooked a flat roof and windows to another room/hallway so not private. Towels very old and worn Bar food not great, was barely lukewarm but as we were in a hurry to get to a show, we said nothing

The location was brilliant very easy to get to and the breakfast was fantastic and so was food in the bar which was very very nice I had my breakfast in bed I was brought up by the staff which were very nice and polite will be back again

Undecided whether I would return

The hotel was clean and rhe staff were friendly. Entertainment was very good in the lounge. Food in the restaurant was good.

The room backed onto a road that was noisy. It had aparments straight across from the hotel that left privacy out of the question without closing the heavy curtains. Nets or blinds would be great.i did not ask to move to another room as I overheard, on checking in, that they were booked out with no vacancies. Management of breakfast was poor.

Nice staff and great location . Food in the bar was very good and reasonable and great idea having a child play area in the hotel for families . But another pool table and ping pong table would be good !

Air conditioning was not working In the rooms and it’s was uncomfortable. Shower was broken and only ran hot water . The hotel needs an hotel upgrade in the rooms and breakfast was ok . Need to get a news coffee machine!

1. when checking in, we didn't know there were 2 blocks, we were sent to the wrong block and the hotel is large with long corridors so it was quite the trek by time we eventually located the room 2. our room smelled of cigarette smoke 3. our air con unit didn't work 4. there was a razor blade under the bed

Central location, great Irish hospitality.

Staff were friendly and helpful. There was plenty of choice for breakfast, food was good and staff were very attentive. Beds were comfortable and there was plenty of hot water. We had everything we needed.

A couple more tea bags and extra milk would have been good. But we managed fine without.

Disappointing

It is a very central hotel in Waterford City.

The hotel is gone very run down, it needs to be refurbished badly. The floors in the changing rooms at the pool were wet and did not appear to have been dried off at all. Also, there was no shower gel in showers, which was disappointing. I wouldn't stay there again or recommend it.

Won’t be staying here again

Cleanliness was good

Way too outdated, felt like I was back in 2006. Booked a double bed and it was 2 single bed pushed together which was another let down. Tv was beyond old and tv remote only worked when it wanted too. Shower screen was a nightmare if you slipped you’d do fall straight through it as it has a stopper that was just pointless in fairness. Room stat didn’t work at all either so more than likely wasn’t working.

Excellent stay

Stayed in room 221 was an excellent and bed very comfortable and spotless clean. the only little drawback TV reception poor especially RTE 2 and very little TV stations to choose from. I found the lady at reception friendly and hands on, very informative. Will stay again when the opportunity arises One other point I must mention they had a great music group band playing in the lounge bar I am sorry I can’t remember their name but the were fabulous.
