Stunning Design, Authentic Culture, and Wonderful Hosts!

We absolutely loved our stay! Everything—from the buildings to the rooms to the interior decorations—is built and tastefully furnished by Vasilis. We especially loved how the interior decorations have integrated the culture of the area, making it feel so authentic. What made the experience truly special was interacting with our hosts, Vasilis and Adina. They are so hospitable, generous, and open to sharing about their lives. We also enjoyed the breakfast and dinner, which were delicious and prepared by the hosts. It was a perfect experience. We feel like we can stay there forever! Highly recommended.

The real Greece!

A beautifully restored property in a very peaceful , charming and traditional Greek village. Our hosts were helpful and knowledgeable. They also prepared very good meals. Our room was comfortable and, as with the rest of the property, full of interesting artifacts.

We stayed for one night, Wednesday, and were so impressed we decided to return on Sunday.

Vasilis and Adana, (and of course Tommy the dog) are both wonderful hosts. The food for both the breakfast and the evening meals were excellent. The location is peaceful and stunning and will be even more so in the next few weeks once the leaves on the trees change into their autumn colours. Highly recommended.

Maybe some fruit for breakfast? Just a suggestion as otherwise the breakfast was very good and nourishing.

Fine decorated rooms with traditional furniture. Located in the forest and shaded cool area, AC were not required during our stay in July. Quiet place, recommended.

Serene. thoughtful, warm, and genuine

Everything about our experience was lovely. We were met by Adina, who checked us in and explained the property, and later met Vassilios. The care and attention paid to detail is what stands out immediately. Vassilios sought to faithfully reconstruct a specific, traditional form of architecture and experience in Viraggas, and he does it magnificently. It's a great location if you want to be away from the crowds and in a relaxed atmosphere. The outdoor spaces are lovely, great for sitting and having a drink in serenity. Really, everything is lovely and we could go on for ages about it, but what's truly special about Viraggas is that care and attention that go from the physical spaces to the personal relationships. Adina and Vassilios are warm, interesting, and thoughtful people who struck us as genuinely caring for their property and our experiences, without ever being invasive. In addition, Vassilios is an excellent chef and staying and trying his cuisine is definitely worth it.

Exceptional

A hidden beauty in the mountains north to Halkidiki beach resorts. We would highly recommend at least a few-days stop here if not a full vacation. In our search for authentic Greek experiences, we found this place two years ago, but unfortunately we had to cancel that trip in the last minute. We came back this year and it was worth it. What is exceptional about this hotel/villa is the overall architecture and the interior design. You can see there the detail orientation of the owner (himself an architect) and the high quality and value of every object there. The surrounding is also perfect: in a valley, between two hills and a small water flow. Very relaxing since it gives you the feeling of only nature around you, far from the madding crowd. :) Last but not least, we had twice the dinner there at it was WOW!!! Although there's not seem to be a restaurant opened for the public, the owner is regularly preparing on-request dinner for the guests. The food/ingredients quality, the serving and the atmosphere is something that you cannot find in most of the commercial resorts nearby, that's for sure. So if you want an unique culinary experience, ask for dinner there. Although we didn't have too much time to explore it, the mountain area around the hotel also seems to have a lot to offer. Overall great experience and we would love to come back everytime we have the chance.

A special place to remember

A beautiful and special place, super invested. Every corner is perfect, one of the hotels that you remember for a lifetime. Very aesthetic and clean. Vasili, the owner, is a very interesting person and a welcoming conversationalist. There is even an app for the place with explanations and a gallery about interesting places and attractions in the area. Highly recommend!

This is one of the most beautiful place of residences where we have been to, Adina's and Vassili's Viraggas Mansion as well as their hospitality is just outstanding! We enjoyed being here for 7 days, and we could have stayed longer - there is so much to explore in this region: Hiking in the beautiful nature, waterfalls, lovely villages like Arnea, Olynthos as famous archaeological site, Thessaloniki, ...and one can choose from many beautiful beaches close by. Special thanks to Vassili for the excellent breakfast and dinner, and for your many highly valuable recommdations! Efcharistó polí !

Hidden GEM

The total experience was memorable! Vasili is an excellent host. We ate here each evening and just went with what he cooked. Quite authentic. (Wine was good too!) We went hiking (ask Vasili), nothing hardcore. Beautiful scenery. Bakery in town interesting to visit too. Say hello to Tommy (the dog) when you go visit this hotel, and hi to Vasili!

You can always find something that is not optimal, but I would take away from the credit that this unique hotel deserves. Be cautious driving the last 200 m though… narrow streets and tight bridge… but I did it with a large minibus so most cars will be fine.

A “wow” experience overall

Very well located, surrounded by nature. The attractions are easily reachable. The design is cohesive, every detail was thought through. The hotel room and all public areas are extremely clean. The hosts are auper friendly, eager to share information about the area. And not to forget, the food was exceptional!! The best fish fillet I have ever eaten.

Dream destination with lovely owners in a small village away from the crowds

We had a wonderful time in this guesthouse in a place outside of crowds. Here you can switch off and relax. It isn‘t far from the beaches of Chalkidiki. In the surrounding area you have many opportunities for hiking with beautiful excursion destinations. The owner Vasilio has his own app for this that gives a good overview. He and his wife are so lovely hosts. They gave us everything we needed and much more besides. They help you where they can and put a lot of effort into making you feel comfortable. Breakfast and dinner (we had both) were very delicious with local products and great attention to detail. It is absolutely recommended to come here, stay, eat and enjoy.

A fine example of dedication and attention to detail

This property is officially rated as a 3* hotel - my guess is because of not having 24h reception and room service. However, the services offered are typical of 4*plus hotels; the quality of bedding, the luxury amenities and an exceptional restaurant serving home grown and local produce and the most amazing breakfast. Worth noting is the attention to detail paid by the owners and the cleanliness of the this little jewel. Upon booking guests receive an invitation to an application where all necessary details for locating the hotel, places to visit–excursions as day trips are described in detail and honest suggestions of places to eat are available.

The fact that the owners made it impossible to find anything negative to comment about! :-)

Viraggas, a charming place

Quite and charming place, authentic, deep into the nature where you can escape the busy popular touristic places and the scalding hot temperatures. You can easily access nearby secluded beaches (20-30 mins drive) where you can relax in peace and enjoy the seaside. You can also go on hikes nearby to discover beautiful nature spots with small waterfalls and ponds, very well documented on the location’s blog and instagram page. The house is truly beautiful with great attention to detail. the owner is an architect and this really shows through the tasteful traditional decoration of the whole place. You can really feel the authenticity of an unspoilt Greek village, the picturesque atmosphere and the quietness of the surrounding nature. The gardens are spacious and offer peaceful corners where you can enjoy your morning coffee. The terrace is splendid, the perfect place to enjoy your breakfast and dinner. The place is spotless, kept incredibly clean during our stay. The owners are extremely welcoming and always helpful, a pleasure to talk to but also very discreet in case you want a quiet and private stay. The owner is an amazing cook, you will be pleasantly surprised with every meal you will have. The food was delicious, a perfect mix of traditional recipes and unexpected combinations. We want to show our appreciation for an amazing holiday spent at their location and we truly recommend it to anyone who wants to spend their holiday at an ideal location for relaxation and tranquility. Een geweldig en goed verzorgd verblijf in de bergen van Chalkidiki.

Het hotel is schitterend gelegen in de bergen van Chalkidiki en biedt moderne comfort in een prachtig traditionele stijl. Het complex heeft alles wat je nodig hebt, een zwembad, verschillende zitplekjes en -hoekjes zowel binnen als buiten en het is er heerlijk rustig. Het meubilair en de details tonen de traditionele Griekse inrichting. De eigenaren zijn ontzettend vriendelijk en gastvrij en boden aan om ‘s avonds voor ons te koken waarbij zij heerlijke maaltijden voor ons maakten. De kamer was van alle gemakken en faciliteiten voorzien.

Un cadre très agréable, à l’abri de la foule… très calme, reposant et dépaysant ! Les propriétaires sont charmants et donnent de bons conseils pour rayonner dans la région. Le petit déjeuner et le dîner sont vraiment de qualité avec des produits qui ont du goût… c’était un séjour top !
